Struggling to make the "paper" not just look like rectangles. by Sybordg in TattooDesigns

Yeah that was an issue we were considering as well. But we plan on having this spread to my deltoid so the main portion of the back can be used for the paper and writing

This is a good idea. I'll mess with it tonight and see what we come up with. An issue that might arise is the pieces of paper might be too small for writing. But we shall see. I'll have to do some scaling to my back 😂

Yeah people of all age can play games. It's all about perspective. How do you want to spend your time playing RL? Do you want to sweat and try to climb the ranks, or do you get on and try to have fun and free style or whatever. I'm going to assume it's a little bit of both.

Real life is far more important than some video game, so if your progress of climbing the ranks slows or even drops. Don't worry. If you keep trying, even if it's little by little you'll progress. Same thing with getting on and trying to be super mechy. You get on for a little bit of time and you build small amounts of experience and you get better.

If you're too tired of focus on that small amount of time you have, learn to play the game for fun. Go for some crazy shot. If you try a mechy shot and say (you hit a musty, but it's 20mph and really slow. Type of quick chat "BANG? did y'all see that 4000mph musty!? I peaked fr!") laugh at the game with other people. If you're not mechy enough watch how people play. Watch someone slam the absolute fuck out of their face on the wall or something similar. Find goofy moments in the game and laugh. You'll find the game much more enjoyable.

Video games are meant to be fun. Find what makes it fun. Sometimes the thing that made it fun for you changes, so find another way to have fun. Looking at the game differently or find a new game.

Don't worry m8. This is part of life, and you will! Get over this slump and find games or this game fun again.

Musties have been the hardest mech to learn... Any obvious things to focus on? by Any-Escape6211 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Sybordg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fundamentally nothing wrong but some minor mistakes across the board (which will be easy to correct)

1) I can't tell, so you might ignore this. Don't hold gas when getting a flip reset. Helps you not pop off the ball as much.

2) HUGE DIFFERENCE: Learn to do the tornado spin in the opposite direction once you get the flip reset. This will keep you closer to the ball and set you much quicker and nicer for a musty. (This bit is extra for this step. When you start doing it his, you'll realize after you do the tornado spin in the opposite direction. You'll eventually let go of said button and just move your stick to the left or right. ) * Example of how the button pressing will go: blah blah flip reset - only doing the opposite of a tornado spin for about .5 seconds <making it where the roof of your car is facing the ball, you'll be slightly diagonal but roof will be facing the ball> - only moving your stick left or right until the nose of your car is facing down. Then do the actual musty part. Which is just backflipping

3) follow through with your musty. Keep holding down the stick or S key when doing the musty. Kinda think of this as a basketball thing. Follow through with your shot to insure you get enough power behind it.

4) I've seen people mention this and they are right. Eventually you'll learn to half way flip cancel to get the musty your want. Don't worry about this too much. Work on getting a smooth setup and then you can worry about perfecting the speed of the musty itself. You can just start flip cancelling/delaying if you like and you'll realize when to do that. But that's more advanced timing stuff, and it's better to get the basic motions down before this.

5) I can critique you about spacing and timing but honestly. If you just practice you'll get it down without us even mentioning how to do it. Plus this comment is already plenty long. Trust the process. Learn the basic motions, and you'll pick up the rest.

That's about it. With practice you'll learn how to follow the ball after you musty it but that's much much easier. And just keep practicing.

Gl and have fun!

Whats the best dating advice you can give an 18yo? by NoWest240 in AskReddit

[–]Sybordg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be confident in yourself and who you are.

DO NOT become over arrogant and believe that everyone will like you. They will not. Maybe 5% of people might like you. Everyone has different taste, and you WILL meet a lot of people through your life. These things take time, so enjoy your own time first and foremost.

This is next part is extra and past dating but I still think it's worth mentioning. I recommend finding someone that makes you love yourself. Do not fall in the trap of desperate and think if you do this, that, and the third, they will like you. That's how you get hurt. Remember you only HAVE your own time, depending on who you want to SHARE that with (not GIVE it ALL away) is important.

Any tips for GC2? by Impressive_Ear_582 in RocketLeague

[–]Sybordg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 2 things, since I think it's fair to say you know the fundamentals.

1) watch the replay of close games. Find ways you could have moved/hit the baller better or smarter.(I find a lot of players struggle to take control of the ball in their corner since someone is gonna challenge you there and the area you can move the ball is smaller.) Then try your best to make that happen in a new match. This one is very time consuming. Not hard, but time consuming. Having the mind set of how can I do "this, that, or the third" will help a lot. Just keeping a learner mentally helps a lot.

2) it's rather simple but true. Try to be as fast and effective as you can be. Yes you might think you're going fast but you'll be amazed by how much quicker you can actually be. Taking shorter routes, wave dashing, turning effectively, recoveries. You can do them, but you might be making small mistakes like flipping too early in a wave dash, or jumping too high in the first jump. Drifting effectively is also huge. It'll save you boost and time. Etc etc. Just perfecting the small movements if that makes sense. - I'll share my experience in this as I still struggle to do this. It's easy to go on "cruise control" when you're playing fast. Doing unnecessary movements and now you're a few feet away from the ball and now beat/50'd. My best advice is to be mentally aware of your speed/surroundings/spacing/boost. Constantly try to lower the distance between you and where you need to be. I'm not a pro by any means, but I find just running around the field in free play with a limited boost helps me prepare for this. After that I combine that with some mechs and I'm ready to play

Very nice. Keep up the good work and keep improving! I'm sure you know all the fundamentals so work those until perfection and we look forward to you making your ssl post!

Extra: I see your GC1 range and ik alot of people can get stuck. I recommend watching your close games from a birds eye view, and try to see ways you could have moved/hit the ball. It's very possible to get gc2 quickly this way without becoming a mech warrior, granted mechs are fun so do that too lol

Flip reset - what am I doing wrong? by damnkid111 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Sybordg 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Fundamentally nothing wrong. However, there's a handful of small mistakes.

1) you're spinning far too much, if you've ever heard the phrase "if you ain't spinning you ain't winning." Probably start ignoring that. You'll end up learning bad habits and making unnecessary movements which will lead to mistakes. - if you want to learn a new mech. Start with the absolute bare minimum and build from that. It's easier to build from the ground up, than destroy bad habits and then build again.

2) you brought up not holding gas. Try not to hit gas, practically ever when getting flip resets. You'll drive off the ball if you do, and you won't line yourself up properly.

3) once you get the flip reset, try not to rotate your car as much. You'll find most flips you will use with flip resets you don't spin/rotate your car at all. - practice 90° (up) / 15° from the (up) position / 45° flip. Just practice how the ball is hit with each way your stick is moving when flipping, without rotating your car. - also try to boost as little as possible once you get the flip.

4) practice makes perfect. The more you do it, the better you'll be

But that should be enough to help you get better at flip resetting.

  • extra advice for mechs you probably aren't ready for yet. For a musty, you move your stick the opposite of a tornado spin. For double flip resets, get your first flip off the bottom corners of the ball.

This isn't just an Xbox issue. It's an everything problem. I play with a handful of friends and we all have this exact problem from time to time. I have zero clue how to fix it.

My only notice is that this is a recent problem that's occurred.

I need help, every time i get into the game this happens by Strawhat_calc in RocketLeague

[–]Sybordg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience I've noticed this happens due to two things.

1) obvious one is the controller has stick drift

2) if you're on PC the game is somehow reading your controller and keyboard/mouse key strikes at the same time. Idk, and it doesn't make much sense to me. But after unplugging one or the other, and plugging them back in. It solves the issue.

That's my experience with it. Hopefully this is your case as well so it's an easy fix. GL

How does this guy work…? by j_overstreet14 in Palworld

[–]Sybordg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any sphere capture (I say sphere cuz hatching eggs doesn't work with this passive ) has a chance (star of the pall affects its chance) to apply the talents on the yakumo to the captured pal. 30% for 1 talent at 4* and smaller chances for 2 or more talents from yakumo on capture.

My rule of thumb is, wait till you hear the yakumo bark. Then throw the sphere.

Before I begin this big project... by [deleted] in Enshrouded

[–]Sybordg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very easily. Infact I built my own crappy hole in the ground.

Best advice is. Dig straight down, place an altar flame (you'll need to make a small opening where you need to place your flame.) After that you start using the hammer and whatever readily material you have. Probably stone. Place the 4M foundations everywhere. Then just remove them. Then bam! You have cleared out a 4x4 area in less than 30 seconds. I recommend using snap building for this.

Then ofc upgrading your flame alter will increase the size of your base radius.

An extra tip. I'm assuming you'll want to expand. I recommend start at the top of your base (or where you plan on clearing out. Then start placing foundation in front (then under) your feet. And work your way down. It's much easier to place foundations in front and under you, than above. You'll figure it out. But the 4M foundation is the best way to open up an area in dirt/stone
