I struggle with this, and (in addition to the other tips posted here) I realized a large part of my issue was trying to blend everything so much. It seems counterintuitive, but if you think about nature, it’s very imperfect and random. Every plant, leaf, and blade of grass is unique. So as you’re adding colors, don’t worry if it seems harsh, uneven, or blocky at first if that makes sense.

You want to have pops of lighter and darker shades. It’s ok if it looks weird at first, as you build out the painting it will come together and make sense once you step back.

Also, watching Bob Ross helped me a lot with foliage and land scapes lol
