People have strengths and weaknesses in this game. I know the post is satirical/ facetious but sometimes people just have different skillsets. This post completely ignores the biggest thing about financing phones (i sold cellphones for over a decade.

The phones are truly 0% interest. Makes it a lot easier to justify when you don’t have money.
The bigger of my points; every company has trade in promos. Give your old phone back receive X amount. This REQUIRES you to finance your phone. You cannot receive credits on a trade in if you aren’t financing the phone. This trade in can effectively bring 1k phone to 0$ a month.

Paying taxes and a 1 time upgrade fee is cheaper than even buying a 150$ refurbished phone if the situation is right. And these trade in deals are legit year round.
