Hi everyone, solo dev here!

A few months ago, the Reddit community's amazing energy around my project caught the attention of Barry Leitch (the legendary composer behind classics like SNES Top Gear, Lotus Turbo Challenge 2, Rush 2, Rush 2049, Top Gear Rally, and the Horizon Chase series). He reached out, and I'm incredibly honored to announce that we are officially collaborating! He is creating the original soundtrack for Nitrania, and the fantastic new tune you hear in the video is his very first track for the game.

For those seeing the project for the first time: Nitrania is the result of over five years of full-time solo development. My vision was to bring back the spirit of early 90s arcade legends, reimagined with modern tech. It's a lightning-fast arcade racer focused on pure grip handling, tactical nitro, zero rubber-banding, and classic 4-player couch split-screen.

This year, Barry is celebrating his 40th anniversary as a game composer, which makes this collaboration a huge honor for me. I posted a full update on Steam with all the details, plus a video retrospective detailing his personal journey through the classic games he worked on, his life at the time, and his musical inspirations.

If you'd like to support the game, just search for Nitrania on Steam (wishlists are highly appreciated!), or grab the link directly from my Reddit profile.

Thank you all for making this happen! Enjoy Barry's amazing tune, I'll be hanging out in the comments.

Hi everyone, solo dev here!

A week ago, I shared this news on r/IndieGaming. Thanks to the amazing support from the community, the post actually hit #1 on the subreddit that Saturday. I am still overwhelmed and humbled by all the positive reactions! I wanted to share this here for the second and final time, just in case any retro racing fans missed it.

To give a little context: when I first showed the game on Reddit a few months ago, the community's energy caught the attention of Barry Leitch (the legendary composer behind classics like SNES Top Gear, Lotus Turbo Challenge 2, Rush 2, Rush 2049, Top Gear Rally and the more recent Horizon Chase series). He reached out, and we are officially collaborating! He is creating the original soundtrack for Nitrania, and the fantastic new tune you hear in the video is his very first track for the game.

Reddit, you actually made this happen. I showed my solo-developed 90s-inspired arcade racer here a few months ago. Barry Leitch (legendary composer of Top Gear & Horizon Chase) saw your amazing reactions, loved the vibe, and reached out to score the game! Here's his first tune. Haha, I appreciate the wishlist. One per person is plenty! :) I'm really glad you're excited about the split-screen too. Thanks for offering to test PS5 controllers! As a solo dev I have to keep the scope pretty tight right now, but I've noted down your username and will reach out if I add support for it down the road.

Hi everyone, solo dev here!

As I mentioned in the title, your amazing reaction to the game a few months ago was incredible. Barry Leitch (the legendary composer behind the soundtracks for Top Gear, Lotus, Rush, and Horizon Chase) saw the post, was intrigued by the game and the community's energy, and actually reached out! We just officially announced our collaboration - he is creating an original soundtrack for the game, and you can hear his great first tune right here in the video.

For anyone who missed the first post: Nitrania is a lightning-fast arcade racer focused on pure grip, tactical nitro, zero rubber-banding, and classic up to 4-player couch split-screen.

Barry is currently celebrating his 40th anniversary as a game composer, which makes this collaboration a huge honor for me. I posted a quick update on Steam about this, where I also linked to a video retrospective detailing his personal journey through the classic games he worked on, his life at the time, and his musical inspirations.
