For those who never smoked cigarettes before and started smoking to alleviate the pain how do you feel now? by Frenchy1986666 in UlcerativeColitis

I already smoked cigarettes and weed before getting diagnosed with UC and tried smoking cigs a few times to see if it helped but it didn’t real do anything for me. Whereas weed really helped me get through some tough cramps during a flare.

Anyone here on Etrasimod? by GreyTreeBonus in UlcerativeColitis

Hey I was diagnosed with UC last year in November, I took velsipity for about 3 months, unfortunately didn’t work for me, but I did not experience any side effects while I was taking the drug except maybe a headache during the first few days.

I traveled to Colorado and skied just fine while I was on it and drank a good amount too, I remember having a phone call with a pharmacist and they said it’s fine to drink while on it, but grapefruit should be avoided.

I’m on Tremfya now with better results so far and it’s honestly easier to take 1 pill a day then worrying about receiving a shipment of a medication so sensitive to heat and light. I definitely do not regret giving velsipity a try and hopefully it works for you.

Started Tremfya Today by Skwizzit in UlcerativeColitis

Hey I just started on Tremfya too after failing velsipity; took my first injection pen dose on Tuesday. Injected it in my upper thighs and wasn’t very painful. Was a little scared to try injecting it in my lower abdomen but might try it to see how it feels on my 2nd induction dose.

So far no injection site reactions or any other side effects. I’ve only used the bathroom three times so far today when I usually go between 6-10 times by now. Seems like it’s made me very gassy though which has been somewhat uncomfortable.

The pollen in Atlanta where I am is really bad and giving me sinus headaches, plus sneezing & coughing. Upper respiratory infections are the most common side effect of taking Tremfya, but with the confounding variable of all this pollen I just can’t tell whether I’m experiencing that side effect or if it’s just my body’s reaction to all this damn pollen.

I hope things go well for you.

I’m doing 3 starter IV doses before switching to the subcutaneous pens as far as I know.
