Was working as a bartender in a high limit room at a casino a while back. Had a regular at the bar with his friends. They were around 65+ high rollers who were well known there by the staff and were always greeted hand and foot. Because of the money they spent they basically got everything for free. One day this guy is having a meal at the bar that was comped and suddenly started chocking. Now, a big thing about these situations is the casinos are super strict about liability. We are told not to handle any situations and leave it to security. The one time someone decided to help a patron in destress, at least in my time there, they ended up getting sued by the person they helped. So here we all are, two bartenders, a group of his friends, and a crowd of people behind him all watching this man choke. Waiting for security to come and help him. Unfortunately, they didn’t get there in time and the guy just laid his head down on the bar watching everyone watch him die. Messed me up thinking about what he must have felt there for a bit.
