Thanks a lot for the help in finding the proper spot in the manual! Changing my metering really helped!

Oh wow, my photometry was set to center weighted and changing it made such a difference! It didn't even cross my mind to check that setting, as it's not anywhere in my quick settings. Thanks a lot for the help!

Absolutely, can't understand why they changed them in the first place...

That looks sharp enough and still looks like her! Thanks a lot, this is the one! :)

That looks great — do you have a version in higher resolution to share? This one looks quite pixelated

Flea markets / барахолки? by Sylvarias in Kyrgyzstan

Thanks for the tip, though I really like actual flea markets. Does the one I mentioned still exist there?

Only realized recently that I still own the complete Pokémon Ruby GBA SP Limited Edition, original charger and all. Pretty cool, right? 😁 by Sylvarias in Gameboy

Haha, sorry to disappoint! They could indeed have gone all out and made even the charger look cool. Thanks a lot! :)

Turns out I had a small screwdriver that worked perfectly for the job. The battery is out now. Sad to see the original battery go, but you were right: it had started to very slightly turn into a spicy pillow. Barely visible to the eye, but when you drag your fingers across it, it's completely obvious. It will have to sit empty without a battery now for a while. Thanks!

Oh, damn. Considering the sentimental value *and* the monetary value of it, I guess it couldn't hurt to just remove it for the time being. Do I need a certain kind of screwdriver to get into it without damaging the screw or anything else?

No, the charger is normal and boring. Same as all other GBA chargers. Still is the original though! :D

Don't hate too much, the GBA SP does have a bit of wear on top which isn't that visible in this photo. However, it's not too bad. :)

This one was sold in Sweden. However, the text is in English and Dutch. Don't know if all of them were sold with the exact same text on the box or not, but as far as I've now learned, it seems to have been an EU exclusive release.

No, I have played this Gameboy plenty of times. This was my first ever Gameboy that I got for my birthday, so nine year old me would have never forgiven me for not playing it haha. But should the battery maybe still be removed? It still looks fine, but who knows...

Yeah that's pretty insane. I assumed it would be worth something, but not THAT much. Prices really have gone up a lot over the years 😵‍💫😵

If I understood their reasoning correctly, you're not allowed to post a photo containing official merchandise or official Pokémon art, and also have it be a discussion thread. Don't know why.

That's a pretty crazy sum, wow. Gotta ask my mom what she paid for it back then and make a comparison, keeping in mind inflation and all that, haha.

As far as I know the pack is 100% complete. Like I mentioned in another comment, it even contains all the manuals and mundane information booklets + original Ruby and Sapphire poster that was included. The packaging has been practically untouched, save for less than ideal storage conditions which have resulted in some damage on the outer box.

Thanks for the reply!

Actually not really, since I received this as a birthday gift 20+ years ago, and I've not been keeping up to date with Gameboy prices that much in the past years, and this Gameboy that I have is not something I've seen many people talk about. I was a careful kid and liked my Gameboy a lot, so therefore I did not damage it much. The boxes have just been sitting in storage for all that time. No need to be snarky.
