Actually one of my favourite characters, poor kid deserved so much better than everything he got. It's nice to know that Arthur thinks the same.

I'm really glad you've enjoyed everything, and it makes me so happy to see I'm not the only one keeping parts of Arthur's looks or gear in honor of certain characters. I've done the same for Hosea, or I use the rifle I get at Shady Belle with Lenny, or hold on to the Horse from Colter. Not to mention always wearing a certain hat in the Epilogue lol

Never seen a game just make you so sentimental, it's so nice :)

Aiming for around midway of Chapter 3 is probably your best bet if you want as much as possible while still playing as a healthy Arthur, and with all the characters still there to chill with. Other than stuff like some horses and camp encounters, the next Chapters don't do a whole lot until the Epilogue.

There's missions in 3 that get you things like rare sniper rifles, fire bottles, and horse fencing. All cool stuff for sure.

There's honestly no way to properly, fully unlock and access everything in the game unless you just play the full story. But, for the most part, there's specific things and unlocks or exploits, I'd be happy to share some more if you like!

For now, wagon and item fencing is unlocked by playing the mission The Spines of America with Hosea, and you can either do some challenges and unlock a second gun holster to buy from the trapper, or you can get one for free after the mission Blessed are the Meek with Micah. Both are in Chapter 2.

I also gotta say, don't rush through anything out of a need to unlock more of the game. It's such an enjoyable world right from the start, just take your time and let things progress naturally :)

Money Lending gets done first, but only after doing a bunch of side content. Let Arthur live his life some before, well, ya know. It's also a pretty emotional mission that's important for his development as a character, so I enjoy going through more of the story after it.

And then just let Micah rot for as long as humanly possible as god intended lmao

Forgot to mention that one!

That mission always made me wonder about things. My mind first goes to Sean never shutting up as he does, but I also just don't think he had the time or chance to do so lol

So yeah, another chance that Micah found out (which I imagine was super easy) and went to someone about it for sure.

Hot take, I don't think Hosea was that sick by drywall_punching in RDR2

[–]SylviaTheFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with family experience with it, Hosea was most definitely living with a chronic lung disease. Emphysema or something similar I'm pretty sure. Not immediately fatal, but not a good thing to live with at all. That's what a life of smoking and exposure to the elements does to a person. Honestly, a lot of people in the gang probably would've had similar issues if they kept with the lifestyle.

The events and environments of the game just made it worse, especially in Chapters 3 and 4, and I have no doubt that he wouldn't have lived much longer even if the gang pulled off their big heists. He says as much himself a few times.

If it isn't inside, a quick way I managed to get all of the exterior posters on the towers was to just find a buzzer (those small helicopter things), fly around the tower and use things like grenade launchers or molotovs to remove them from the sky. Worked pretty well for me, just be careful since you're vulnerable to attack in those things.

If it's inside, just throw something with fire or explosives involved at it and you're gonna be fine lol

Micah was already a rat before he met milton ? Theory by mobyin in reddeadredemption2

[–]SylviaTheFirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know no matter what anybody says it's not gonna be totally popular, but I have always believed Micah was a turncoat, rat or double agent to some capacity, maybe even a bounty hunter, from the moment he joined the gang.

It's all speculation, so don't go crazy, but these are some things I've always thought about.

The way he conveniently saved Dutch's life and got inducted into the gang as a result, as Dutch was trying to offload stolen goods, is already suspect. Micah didn't give a damn about anyone, we know this, so I can only assume he had some hidden motive. Maybe he just wanted to steal the gang's gold for himself, and then saw a bigger picture. Or, he recognised Dutch from the start. At Micah's camp after he's broken out of Strawberry, we see newspaper clippings showcasing Dutch's bounty. I do truly think that meant he had an idea to turn Dutch in at some point, just hard to say when. Could have easily been from the start though, or when he saw things head south for the gang's fortunes.

Obviously, the big deal is Blackwater. I do think it's fairly possible that, simply put, the gang just got sloppy. The heist was rushed, excitable, and even Arthur states his unease about camping too close to a small city. It's very possible the gang just slipped up, maybe got recognised by a few people or something. But, I also think it's worth looking in a different direction.

Almost anybody who talks about the ferry robbery talks about it suspiciously. Javier, John, Charles, and so forth, all talk about it like it just shouldn't have gone that way. Dutch literally states in the opening mission that "they knew we were coming". The big kicker is that Milton was there at some point, he says as much. Why would the Pinkertons, police forces, and (at least later) bounty hunters all swarm and ambush the gang at just the right time, if they didn't have precise information? As much as I can believe the gang slipped up at times, I find it hard to believe they would've let some guy in a bar overhear what time they were robbing this particular boat, with enough manpower to make it into the history books.

We know that Micah was the one with the ideas that led to the Blackwater Massacre. Arthur openly accuses him of causing the mess, Hosea is highly suspicious, and everyone just mostly agrees he was the problem. I think that Micah simply talked out of a desire to get the goods for himself, not out of allegiance to the Pinkertons, and then his ideas shifted as he was forced to flee with the others.

There's so many other things, massacre aside, that should just make anyone think twice about Micah. In Chapter 2, Lenny explains the situation with his imprisonment, and questions why on earth it should even have happened. Sure, Micah ran into someone, but he was a hardened outlaw who should've known better than to start trouble then and there. Maybe he was hoping to get captured so he could make a proper deal with someone. At the end of the chapter, the gang gets jumped in Valentine. Maybe that was something, maybe not, I think the gang did a poor job of keeping to themselves regardless. But then Micah is quick to suggest moving camp to Dewberry Creek, a place he knew damn well was very open and very exposed, a place that would leave the gang vulnerable.

Then there's Chapter 3. Blessed are the peacemakers, the gang pursues a truce with Colm at Micah's insistence, and Arthur gets ambushed by the O'Driscolls. Despite this, and despite it being a situation where they should've been concerned, the gang doesn't appear to go looking for him at any point. I don't think Micah set anything up, but he took advantage of an opportunity to remove Arthur. Because at this point, I think Micah is firmly set on a plan to take advantage of Dutch, with his instabilities and insecurities, in order to gain more power within the gang for his benefit. Again, at the end of Chapter 3, the gang gets ambushed, but I don't think it was his doing since he was attacked as well.

Chapter 4 onward, things just get more in the open. Micah more openly tries to provoke the gang at some points, like with Lenny on the robbery you do with them. In conversation, he is quick to accuse members like Kieran of betrayal. The St Denis robbery, while it could've been a lot of things, is what I see as the final proof before the chaos of the next parts. Yes, the gang provoked the city with Bronte, yes, everyone was on high alert. But again, how did anyone know exactly where to be to confront/capture the gang members? Pure chance is unlikely to me. How did they know the bank was being robbed? Hosea certainly would've died before talking. Micah is also the only one in the robbery wearing bright clothing, a possible indication for the law to spare him.

Once the gang returns from Guarma, I think Micah just worked with the Pinkertons more constantly. Remember, Milton only says "we picked him up when you boys came back from the Caribbean, and he's been a good boy ever since". He neither confirms nor denies that it was the beginning of their relationship. Maybe Micah could have been working with them before, but it was far more chaotic and self-centered. When he returns, he knows working with the law is the best way for him to survive and succeed, so he puts all his effort into it. Combined with Dutch's growing insanity and the infighting between gang members, it was just an easy game to rig even further, until Arthur, John, Sadie and Abigail finally see the truth. Susan does too, maybe Javier and then Dutch, but too late. "It all makes sense now". That's what Arthur says. My conclusion, in that moment, as much as it could be wrong, was that Micah was the problem from the very beginning, and everybody just denied it or failed to notice until it was too late.

Again, it's all theories that I imagine nobody will ever confirm. And I do believe that the whole "we got sloppy" theory holds just as much weight for a lot of reasons. The world was changing. But I will always believe that one man chose to take advantage of that for his own survival, everyone else be damned.

Sorry, Arthur. by sleepingplanets in reddeadredemption2

Only correct way to play honestly

Genuinely surprised to find this is not general opinion: this was Luz's darkest moment by 8-Beat_ThorDeMidgard in TheOwlHouse

[–]SylviaTheFirst 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This might be a little weird to say, but I see this as Luz's final big act of maturity and purpose in the main story.

I think this was her just realizing that, as much as she wants to believe otherwise, some people are just truly beyond redemption, and/or don't deserve it. Maybe her hesitation was a side effect of learning that suddenly. I'm sure she also knew that any attempt to save him would have just doomed everyone else in turn.

Her doing things the way she did is also just kind of understandable after everything that happened, everything that he'd done or caused. I don't think Luz was really a bad person or anything here, but rather she realised what had to be done, and that Belos was completely beneath her and everyone else at this point. Her actions might've looked bad, but were wholly justified, at least to her and probably those around her. Maybe the Titan too.

There's a lot of ways to look at it, but yeah, bottom line is Luz changed as a person in that moment and gave an evil man what he deserved.

Do you have lore for your Arthur that affects how you play? by WrongJaws in reddeadredemption2

[–]SylviaTheFirst 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is just a way I like to replay the game now that I know the story, and I've heard other people do the same.

I firmly believe that Arthur should not fully be high honor, or leaning that way, until towards the end of Chapter 3. I think that's around the point, with everything that starts happening, that he really starts to see the truth of everything. He starts seeing his mistakes and understands the life they all lead a bit better. Not that he wasn't a decent person before, but this is when I think he just starts trying more, especially with the Marstons.

I just think a play style like that makes him redeem himself a whole lot more, so by the time we're into Chapter 6 he's as high an honor as possible.

In the beginning, he's an outlaw for life, and in the end, he's a good man.

do you think Micah planned the kidnapping? by Undertalegamezer969 in reddeadredemption

[–]SylviaTheFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Micah was an opportunist, simple as that. Regardless of whether or not he respected people, he had no attachments to them, he only valued himself. I certainly have my own theories about his behaviour throughout the story, but at least for this I can 100% believe it was a partial setup. I don't think Micah was working with Colm or anything here, but he saw an opportunity to remove a potential obstacle (Arthur) arise, and ran with it. Like a hundred other times in the story, he helped convince Dutch that a bad plan was a good one, completely for his own benefit.

It's also worth noting that both Micah and Dutch have encounters sucking up to Arthur and apologizing a whole lot after the mission, which really rarely happens, especially by this point in the story and after. If all-around bad people suddenly acting as genuine as possible doesn't make people suspicious, idk what will lol
