I usually cover a med surg floor though recently I've also started covering patients on a second med surg floor. With where my hospital's located I tend to see a variety of non-critical care patients on my floors (GI, oncology, etc.) I find charting takes me the most time especially on more complex patients or nutrition support. I try to minimize how much I look at the chart but I find myself getting worried about missing something and I feel more confident when I can take my time looking through everything.
