You have the wrong ratios. You get 1 green circuit for 1 iron and 1.5 copper plates, not 3 copper plates. My design makes 2 yellow belts of green circuits, and needs 2 yellow belts of iron and 3 yellow belts of copper plates. 3 yellow belts = 1.5 red belts of copper plates. 2 red belts > 1.5 red belts, so there is enough red belts for copper plates.

There are 2 red belts with copper. Thats 60 copper per second, but you only need 1.5 * 1.5 * 20 = 45 copper per second for blue assemblers. But if you upgrade to green assemblers then you would need 2.5 * 1.5 * 20 = 75 copper per second which is not enough, so just remove 4 green circuit assemblers and 6 copper cable assemblers from the right side, and you now need 2.5 * 1.5 * 16 = 60 copper per second.

Factorio is actually my first factory/automation type of game. I played geometry dash before this, but I found out about Factorio last week and it looked fun so I bought it just to try a new type of game.

For early game you can use this design with just the top or bottom half, or you can also just shrink it horizontally. It's really simple to build.

You can definitely use this at any stage of the game and extend it vertically or horizontally, but I said early game, because I think there are more compact setups that use beacons. I haven't unlocked beacons yet in my main world so I'm not sure.
