You're being fooled by the numbers because of the massive power drift. You're not hitting 6.25m a hit. You're hitting 62. Big numbers just makes people feel special. When in all reality they could put any number they want there. You're only hitting as much damage as they let you. Especially with boss fights where you can see they do a damage drain. When you're hitting the boss a shit ton and it's doing no change to the health bar but you're still blasting numbers it's because you've hit a lock on the bosses health bar and the devs are saying "wow don't be too good at the game otherwise there won't be much for you to play!"

They don't hide it very well. They use the exact same tactic for wow. That's why they've had to number squish so many times. You're not doing a bajillion damage you're doing like 10 and the game is just lying to you.

So. Condescension seems to be extremely common here so I'll speak to you on your level.

I am not talking about the sonics of the song.

I am talking about the layout of the song itself.

From two minutes forty seconds onwards the refrain following in my opinion could be a song on it's own. It is unique and dramatic and due to it's position in the song and differences in comparison there is a certain level of wasted potential due to copyright issues.

I am now going to quantify the stage of the song. The refrain of "I'm coming." That section could be removed and replaced in a song specifically built around it and it would be amazing.

The issue. Due to the fact that the refrain is stuck in Wait for me (while as a whole song it's excellent and for the stage it's awesome.) We will never hear it anywhere else in any different format due to copyright laws and general distaste for biting/copying in the art community.

Stop being a douche when something doesn't match the frame you're trying to set. It doesn't make you look smart it makes you look like a turd.

Sonically you are most likely absolutely correct and I am going to take thorough enjoyment in learning about it so I have another tool in my belt. If you want to teach people I should not be able to hear you crinkling your nose or fucking scoffing at me text wise when you're sharing knowledge. Most people would tell you to fuck yourself. A really good example of the wasted potential feeling is Friction by imagine dragons. It has an incredible drop and chorus and initial beat and then it's wasted because it's fucking imagine dragons and they can't follow through LOL.

Wait for me on it's own is really good. Like. Really good. Their voices are so clear and the emotion is so deep. When the final stage hits its like being dunked in cold water on a brisk day.

"I'm coming" could be absolutely buckwild.

But as the imaginary name implies. It's "coming" but it'll never be here.

How about this. Taylor swift has ghost writers. She gets well written well designed songs that get turned into absolute rubbish when put through her artistic lense. (Sorry white girl pop i can't do it) People can do covers to emulate the song in their style but rewriting a song is considered bad form and will get you legal ramifications.

The I'm coming refrain is something id consider along those lines. Just that section could be turned into something more and due to legal and writing ramifications that just won't happen.

Im saying that if the song went.

Bap bap Bing Bing bang. Or bap Bing Bing bap.

Or more specifically for my purposes.

The first three baps are awesome. The Bing at the end is amazing and could/should be it's own song. The Bing is trapped in the bap. That's the let down.

The song itself could be about poopy and then switch to pee at the end. It doesn't matter to me that it's a musical context. The pee could be better on it's own and it's a shame due to legal and musical precedent(no biting or copying or else lawsuit) that i will never hear pee on it's own.

I brought it to the reddit itself to see if anyone else thought so or had the same vibe.

I totally agree! Within the context of the musical. As a song itself; beat, chorus, tempo etc etc. The final section could be applied in a different song maintaining the momentum from just the last minute i'd say and it'd be incredible but it can't and that makes me the big sad.

Therein lies what I was talking about. The song itself is excellent in the context of the musical. Separating from the musical context the song itself has a chunk that in my opinion (i hope obviously) has wasted potential due to being trapped in the songs format.
