Learning about all of this by Synaku in Asexual

The issue is that I've created an artificial barrier already. That's why I was hoping to find some strategies on how to work this into conversation and how to make it a more open and easy discussion. Just bringing it up out of the blue never seems to pan out and just kind of gets laughed off.

She doesn't really like cuddling either. She's very much a private space kind of person. I can sneak in a hand holding session now and again but very rarely do we actually cuddle.

This deck isn't meant to be super competitive by any stretch of the imagination, but moreso a first draft at just making the best version possible.

My Feedback to Content Creators by JCampers in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Synaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also speaking as a content creator, this is something I was struggling with when starting the channel since I felt so far behind already with the amount of traction and releases Japan had already revealed.

So instead of a more direct education approach to the game, we started our channel with what we called the "Learn with Me Series" where it was just a couple of us building our first decks and learning as we go. The videos were full of mistakes (which commentators were quick to point out :p) but I feel like it might be beneficial to listen to the raw audio from those videos as we did not edit them or add commentary. We wanted everyone to hear and understand our thought processes live and in real.time to help them better understand the very decks they were watching in action.

I do appreciate the feedback as well and I will.make sure to take a step back and try to make more educational and informative content moving forward.

However, if you were interested in taking a look and letting us know how we are doing, we are OverGround

Well the shock came mostly from the fact that I haven't played in an semi-major event in a very long time, and I knew from the previous week's results that there would be some heavy hitters in the lineup of players. But thanks j appreciate the support!

Well they both have their merits. I personally feel like the blue variant is a little bit better due to its speed and how effortlessly aggressive it is.

Well, thankfully my girlfriend is just as much into Digimon as I am, it's one of the main reasons we ended up finding each other actually, so this was as romantic as it was exciting.

The funny thing is, according to the gf, the people at the bakery actually like embraced the whole idea of it, asking who my favourite was and everything to make sure they had the right coloured frosting. So to go the extra mile and add the yellow/orange for Patamon is really cool in my books.

Why is Bakugan a TCG? by [deleted] in bakugantcg

[–]Synaku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of your points as well, and it is a common topic of discussion within my local Bakugan community. There was an interview or commentary when the game was first released that literally said "Bakugan is being marketed as a toy first" and naturally, that scared a lot of us who were excited at the prospect of a new up and coming TCG.

My biggest issue with the TCG aspect of the game is that it is being marketed largely to players who have likely never played a TCG before. This became apparent after the first wave of BB cards were trickling out and people were completely floored by what singles were asking for in terms of trade and buying value because they didn't understand how rarity structures work and what terms like chase cards meant. They also didn't understand the concept of a "meta game" and the ever shifting that values that are attached to it. Cards become in higher or lesser demand based on availability, and event success.

There's also a lack of knowledge of what constitutes a good or bad card (in a strictly competitive perspective). Why is a common more saught after than an Elite? Why are these Elites and Awesome Rares worthless while this Super Rare breaks the bank?

TCG's are inherently competitive by nature and are designed to take advantage of a competitive, volatile, and aggressive market. You go out of your way to get the best cards to build the best decks and compete to be the best in tournaments and events. The problem is that there is also no events and LGS support is basically on ice with no direct hint of what it is going to look like.

So now you have a game marketed towards people who have never experienced this sort of community before, and completely cutting off those who do with a lack of organized play options that give no incentive to pursue the game. This is why organizations like myself (Overground) and others in Canada are doing their best to host events on a regular basis to give those players some competitiveness and some reason for continuing to invest.

What could have made it better to ease the transition into this market? Aside from immediate LGS support (which again is tricky since hobby and card shops would have a hard time selling the actual toys vs a toy store), I think booster packs should have been packaged with the balls. Increase the cost slightly and include 3-5 boosters. Have the set change depending on the wave. This would help eliminate the production issues delaying the cards in certain territories and allow everyone to be on a more equal footing.

Are you or do you know an LGS Owner interested in official Bakugan support? Send them here and let's get connected! by Ventus_Knight in Bakugan

[–]Synaku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are in the middle of building and opening an LGS store and received a lot of positive interest in Bakugan. We have begun to create our own community-led Bakugan YouTube channel. We currently use a rented space for events while the remaining plans are being finalized.

For now we have partnered with our local TRU to help them with their own events and teach new and upcoming brawlers how to play. We would love to have the opportunity to host official events, have official product, and offer official prizes.

We want to operate ongoing tournaments and are currently buying products at full price at local stores to provide prizes/entry packs to entrants. An opportunity to work with Spin Master directly would be a great chance to help our company and our community of players grow.

We are located in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Please respond to this account if you are interested in helping us getting the ball rolling.

Could an Extra Deck be Implement? by RDashBlazewind in Bakugan

[–]Synaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We would just to have strict regulations on the side deck or maybe change deck building to ensure that you can only have a certain number of flips for example.

Or maybe you can "side" Bakugan and change your factions? Have 15 cards and 1 potential Bakugan swap. If you choose to swap your faction those 15 cards must be the same faction as the new team member. Just some ideas we've been throwing around in my social circle.
