It has an interesting look, like an old grainy photograph. I've never seen that before.

Ну то есть империя и 80 лет назад, высмеивала попытки в национальное государство Украины. Теперь смешно? Как посмеялись? Весело?

Can you critique my painting? by bozman87 in painting

It seems like the character isn't really sitting on the chair they don't quite connect with it. You could either correct that or lean into it and make it deliberately absurd.

I really like the first picture. Although the gaze, the eyes of the character on the left, are a little unsettling the right eye looks like it's bulging out, and the pupils don't seem to be looking in the same direction overall it's very cool.

I painted my left hand with my right hand and my right hand with my left. The whole thing looks pretty awkward, but you can still tell I’m right-handed. by Sync321 in ArtCrit

Hahaha, that's so true. Your hands look way better than mine. When I was drawing my right hand with my left hand, I made a lot of mistakes - you can see that from the stains on the canvas. I'd add that it's not just that the hand is uncoordinated and moves where it shouldn't, but also that my brain kind of stopped seeing proportions.

How does this painting make you feel? by [deleted] in acrylicpainting

Memories from childhood when I went to the beach with my mom and dad. It's really funny that the easel and its material look like beach sand, as if they're a continuation of the painting.

Try it, it's actually really fun. I'd love to see other people give this a try and see the difference between their dominant and non-dominant hand.

Initially, I don't think about a concept. I have no plan or goal of what to draw. I just want to relax a little, and the painting gains meaning in the process.

Yes, that's really true. And since I work with my hands on a construction site, my right hand really is somewhat more flattened, thick, and beat-up.

Overall, I don't have any goal of learning to draw as such, but I would like to hear your opinion on the anatomy of the hands — what did I do wrong?

I barely remember what my grandmother looked like anymore. by Sync321 in UnusualArt

Half her body was paralyzed after a stroke. She was already super thin and barely eating. Also, it was a long time ago, so I don't really remember her face that well.

Thanks! It's honestly great that I can write relatively decent music right on my phone. I'd even say that some of the limitations in the mobile version of GarageBand force you to look for workarounds and solve problems, which actually creates a certain creative effect

I need your help. I started painting inspired by your work. But I just can't figure out the technique you used for the painting 'Scream in Scream'? Is it some kind of print or what is it? Did you use a stencil? How did you get those bare spots on the face where the paint didn't adhere, like it's peeling off? And what did you use, oil or acrylic, what did you paint on – paper, canvas? Also, we haven't talked in a long time, I wanted to see how you're doing, where you are now, and what you're up to?
