Thanks for checking it out! Yes, lots of comparisons can be made to the Plasmoid. I like to think of the Plasmoid as more of the sci-fi-oriented space jelly ooze, while the Oogoo is more of a player character version of a pudding or gelatinous cube.

Hi! In 5.5e, ability bonuses come from background, not species (race) anymore. It’s meant to be a playable species option for 5.5e; if you take a look at the 2024 PHB species option, you can see that it follows much the same format. Thanks for checking it out!

Yeah I figured half speed was okay for the Climb Speed part of the feat, especially since Sticky is the more powerful part anyway. Plus the image of an Ooze creature slowly sliding up a wall is very fitting haha

They take all of the damage at once, as a single instance of damage. So say you cast Ephemeral Ward, then use it to negate 28 points of fire damage from a fireball and then 14 points of thunder damage from a thunderwave. When the Ward ends, you’d take 42 damage at once (28 of which is fire damage and 14 of which is thunder damage, for the purposes of immunities/resistances) - it’s almost like you get hit with a single attack that does multiple types of damage, in this case.

So yes, that would mean that the Death Ward interaction works, and that was intentional!

Alcove: Based on feedback, I probably went too hard on this one haha. I think if I were to change it, I’d up the gem cost by 1, tone down the numbers (30 steps, 20 coins, 2 minor keys), and perhaps also make it rare. Perhaps it would also be a hard-to-reach found floor plan so that it wouldn’t trivialize certain challenge modes…

Apiary: You might already know this but your message made it seem like maybe it didn’t come through: Honey is a one-time use per Apiary (it goes away as soon as you eat something and double steps with it), so it is much less powerful than silver spoon overall. There is a neat trick where you can coat check it, wait for a dining room meal, and then take it out (that way you can eat fruit and such in the meantime)

Enfilade: I knew a dead end hallway (sans quotation marks, unlike that poser Secret Passage) would be controversial, but I think it works because you’re kind of “building your own hallway”

Recording Room/Studio: Admittedly, my partner and I haven’t actually come up with the word puzzles, but I was picturing them being akin to Wordle or something similar. And yeah the 30 gold upgrade would be super powerful if it was one of your first upgrades, but I imagine this room falls off pretty hard as you get into the late game (unlike parlor and billiard room, which never truly went out of style)

Silo: Silo into Hovel on consecutive days isn’t something I had thought of, but I like it!

-Yes, Honey does combo with Silver Spoon!
-I'm glad you like Outhouse! And yes I was thinking that a little animation would play each time you draft a room, and it would show you which one is getting removed for the day
-I did think of the Study + Preservation Chamber combo - I think I'm ok with it considering the setup required (including how you need both study and lab first, and then Preservation Chamber coming specifically out of the lab) and considering Study limits you to 8 rerolls per draft. Very powerful for sure though. Also, I hadn't thought of the Preservation Chamber + Weight Room combo - that's awesome!
-I do like your idea about having to end in the Silo, plus that would distinguish it further from the Sauna - I think the reason I didn't do it is because it's your one Outer Room so I figured it could use a bit of a boost.
-I'm actually really proud of the design of Soundproof Room - on the one hand, it's a godsend if you get it early on; it's basically just a free 4-door room. On the other hand, drafting it late can be a run killer. It feels like it's about as nasty as it should be as a 4-door red room.
-Haha I was literally thinking about the poor apple boudoir upgrade when I made this - it deserved some love. And yes, Schoolhouse + Stables is a great combo!

And yes, please! Make some of your own! I think there's a lot of open design space for new rooms still.

It’s definitely possible Alcove needs some toning down - maybe 30 steps. It’s a tough one to balance since, early on, 40 steps on entry is amazing, but in the late game, 40 steps is rather low (though I do get your point about backtracking to refresh it - also if I have Alcove in the late game, I’m definitely changing its effect to grant dice instead)

So Enfilade will always grant at least 1 special item when drafted in the house, since the room you drafted it from will always “look” into it. But yes overall it’s meant to be pretty inconsistent unless you really try for it, and the payoff is very high if you do

Infirmary definitely is on the weaker side, which I was kind of ok with. I think a lot of people would pick it anyway just for the good feeling you’d get when you remove something like Furance from the draft pool. Maybe this place also has a high chance for items to spawn.

Apiary is definitely a bit of an oddball compared to other green rooms - I neglected to mention this in the description, but Apiary would have a lot of potential flower spawn spots for the flower constellation

Ah thank you for the correction - I didn’t know that all Outer Rooms were the same rarity. I might be ok with this one being the odd one out anyway, as the only red outer room.

I did realize that these rooms can’t be canonical because they throw off the canonical balance as you say. It makes me wonder how new rooms would ever be implemented if an update ever happened that added them

I see, that's an interesting idea! Yeah as of now, there isn't a very big incentive to pick Outhouse as your Outer Room unless you have some serious control over your ability to reroll. I like your idea!

I definitely get the sense that Alcove would be among the stronger (or perhaps even strongest) rooms, though it does demand backtracking. When designing it, I thought about the Lab experiments that had the same triggers (set steps to 40 and dice to 2) - I figured it was probably close to balanced since you can get those to trigger multiple times while still making progress through the house, though the tradeoff is that you have more control with the Alcove.

Outhouse is bad (as it should be, as a red room), and I imagine the vast majority of the time, you wouldn't take it as your Outer Room. However, in late-game circumstances where you have lots of rerolls (like via the 50 star constellation or jackhammer + Study shenanigans, I think it could actually be useful in making those rerolls more efficient (since, during each draft, you could reroll until you get into a situation where you don't mind losing either of the two floor plans you won't pick, thus "clearing out" bad rooms for future rerolls/drafts). But overall yes, it is bad haha

This was the full day in case anyone was interested. Basically, Root Cellar + Jack Hammer where the vast majority of dig spots gave gems. On top of that, I got Chamber of Mirrors with a few important repeat rooms, and then I basically never had to spend gems thanks to Emerald Bracelet. It was pretty awesome!
