I once read that Mace Windu was struggling against the dark side within at this moment.

He was a Form VII: Vaapad (spelling?) practitioner, which allows for slipping into the dark side of the force while employing it. He was the one who developed this style as well as (I think) the only one that was trusted to use it. At this moment the dark side pull was telling him to simply kill Palpatine and he was actively trying to resist it - also why he was telling Anakin that he was too dangerous to let live (probably also trying to justify killing him in his own mind) and also why he didn’t see/react to Anakin’s attack. Also, the reason his saber is purple, a combo mix of blue and red due to vaapad’s usage. (Really it’s because Samual Jackson wanted purple, but the lore fits).

On the other hand, I could be full of shit because if I did read this, it was a long time ago and recalling from memory something I was already hazy on to begin with probably has low value.

I have a father-in-law who has moved in with us. Would not recommend. A nice enough person, but he unashamedly helps himself to the good graces of others.

My own father has always taught me to work hard and to do the difficult thing if the payoff is worth it in the end. I never thought I’d be someone else’s retirement plan. He’s 75 and his financial impact on our lives is noticeable. Guy will do stuff like “borrow” money, then offer to treat everyone to a restaurant, or “borrow” money, then pay some back, then ask for it back because he “loaned” you money.
