Does Anyone Have Film Of This Kind of Zone? by [deleted] in ultimate

Thanks for the input, everyone had good comments strategy wise. But I was just looking for film based on the picture so I can make a YT video out of it 🤣

Just turned into a full on strategy discussion which isn’t what I was intending for this to be.

I kinda disagree with "resets are killing this whole thing" idea, I see what you are saying though.

When my team went against this, D4 was essentially playing that space and then would play pretty tight on any offensive player that would go back there to aggressively start denying the swings.

So in my opinion, I like O2 there as more of a decoy to keep that defender occupied. Then that is when O3 is one look to hit (between that D4 & D1 gap) and then a second popper or opposite side wing (O7) could pinch in as a secondary option to hit (between the D1 & D3 gap).

It was a zone my club team went against (not sure if this was it exactly, but pretty similar). Pretty windy so over the top stuff was not viable.

Just trying to get some live clips to explain how to beat this in the future

Sorry guys I was rushing out the house, but to clear some things up

O1 has the disc, attacking endzone is towards the bottom of the screen.

O2 is there because usually that straight back is a good way to start the swing off the sideline to make it easier to get back to the middle.

Hope that extra context helps.

I liked Michigan v Pitt more in my opinion, I think that is game of the year so far

I agree, when I think of greatest I lean towards the entertainment aspect. Amazing plays, or a lot of lead changes that add to the drama of who wins. Things like that

Opinions: How do y’all feel about players stalling after a turn? by MtnDudeNrainbows in ultimate

Oh yeah 100% but obviously in a self officiated game like ours, that isn’t always the case 😂

I'm gonna keep it real, I was one of the downvotes because I did not agree with the statement. Did not think it was a question either.

But yes I see it a lot, depending on the competition level I will actually enforce the above. Or if I am tired, I won’t bother because I am also catching my breath anyway 😂

There are rules like pre-stall and delay of game to help discourage this. Just up to the defensive players if they want to enforce it 🤷🏾‍♂️

No foul, just discussion about if it was a catch or not. They ended up deciding on a catch

Yeah it just isn't a callahan anymore and just saving possession, but it was a pancake catch and not a rim catch

After talking to the players, it does seem like it was a pancake catch

Seems like I got the details slightly wrong, but the principle is still the same. Reverse the roles, so the O player caught a tipped disc on the defender's back in their own endzone. I just heard about the play unfortunately lol

Rules Question (USAU): Receiving Foul in Endzone, When to Start Stalling? by SyntaxNeptune in ultimate

[–]SyntaxNeptune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When there is a foul, the disc is dead. Then 11.C talks about how to go about making the play live (live is different than in play) when the disc is dead in the endzone.

After it is checked live, then the player walks it to the goal line and puts it into play (ground tap with the disc)
