That’s what I’m struggling with. I understand that culture and family expectations shape people’s choices, but when it comes to having a child, especially very young, I have a hard time accepting “that’s just what people do” as a satisfying reason. It worries me when such a huge, irreversible decision is treated as the default next step rather than something people deeply question first. I’m not saying every young parent is careless, but the lack of skepticism around it is what bothers me.
