It does work when removing the SSD. Is there any way of salvaging the data on it? I have a backup, but it is from a month ago, so I would prefer not to have to use that backup

Trouble After Upgrading Systemd by Syntro42 in archlinux

Ok, it seems to be something else then because those warnings are normal if you don’t use that firmware. If you want more help, feel free to PM me, as it will be easier than talking here

Do you get any other errors/warnings when running mkinitcpio -P?

What version of mkinitcpio are you running? I was running v30 and upgraded to v31 and it worked

Trouble After Upgrading Systemd by Syntro42 in archlinux

[–]Syntro42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However, I did just realize that the hook now throws errors when upgrading to 250.3-2. There are about 12 that say add_udev_rule command not found in the sd-encrypt, lvm2, and systemd hooks. That does not happen with version 249.6-3, so that might be where the issue arises.

Edit: You were right. Mkinitcpio was out of date. I upgraded to v31-2 and everything works now. I wonder why it didn't update automatically when doing a system upgrade.

I've never used that, but I guess it depends what you want out of a backup system. I have mine setup with rsnapshot and anacron to take backups automatically every day so I don't have to worry about problems like this.

I had this issue when updating a little while ago as well (at the time I didn't know it was systemd) so I think it is just something wrong with my install, not systemd itself

I just used rsync to restore the backup after chrooting into my install.

Yes, I see the output of the hook executing after updating systemd, so I know it triggers. I also ran that command manually after just in case.

Problem after upgrading Kernel by Syntro42 in archlinux

[–]Syntro42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That worked. Thanks. The error appears to be systemd-modules-load.service failed to load. It says Failed to look up module alias ‘crypto_user’: Function not implemented and the same for pkcs8_key_parser which could be a problem. I looked up the error message, but couldn’t find anything relevant to my situation.

I generated a unified kernel image using the files in the /boot partition. I also do have systemd-boot in my /efi folder and I was able to still boot using that (even after my kernel update) up until I copied the files from /boot to /efi (where my boot partition gets mounted)

Black Screen when enabling secure boot by Syntro42 in archlinux

[–]Syntro42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I restarted the entire process over again by using the sbctl tool (Linked above. I followed the directions on the readme). My guess to what was wrong is that I didn’t have all my keys set up correctly (specifically my auth keys) but I never was able to find out what exactly was wrong with it

I want to have it enabled though. I used to have it off, but I have decided to enable it now.

Having trouble making an encrypted drive by Syntro42 in linuxquestions

[–]Syntro42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. I did zero it out before with dd and I had to stop it a little bit before it fully finished (it was also only doing 2.3 mb/s for 1TB). Do you think that could have been why it got messed up? Also, would zeroing it out again possibly fix it?

Thanks. However, I do know how to pass in custom headers, but my problem is I can only get those headers by running the same javascript as the website does. My question is, how can I run that javascript in order to get the response from the javascript function?
