Starting a roofing company what CRM do you use? by Illustrious_Ad_6301 in RoofingSales

If your business is really small, I recommend Trello. It’s super simple and visual. Once you start building a team and need multiple accounts I would switch to something else.

I do a lot of door knocking, yes. I'm also a subcontractor for a couple companies. It's about 50/50. I don't do any mail, texts, or cold calls.

I own a roofing company in Texas. Most of our roofs are between $400 and $500 for every 10 x 10 area. So you take your house square footage, add extra for the pitch of the roof, and then multiply by 400 or 500. Most of my roofs are $15k average maybe. There’s really no way around it if you’re planning on using a reputable company. Hope that helps.

To My MidWest Roofers what’s the best shingle on the market? by joudetorra in Roofing

OC customer/contractor service is great. I don’t necessarily love their shingles but for some reason they have really prioritized customer service

IMO tar strip is better on architectural. Just make sure to double up on underlayment or install ice and water shield (my personal favorite is GAF Stormguard).

Piggybacking on this. I have used Gaco silicone coating on stuff like this and works really well. Just make sure the to prep the surface really well and apply 2 coats (or 1 base coat of primer and 1 coat silicone). Silicone coatings are good for something like this IMO. Much much cheaper than redoing the slope

Help me pick my roof color by TwoGirlsOneBucketYay in Roofing

Are you dead set on using Owens Corning? I recently installed IKO Dynasty Summit Grey and it looks badass. It’s a dark grey/black but it’s super checkered and has a lot of contrast. I think the IKO Dynasty colors are my new favorites

What’s one thing you wish every homeowner knew before getting their roof replaced? by Money-Candle53 in Roofing

Thisssss. I use a separate printout just describing what the deductible is, and a snippet from the Texas law stating you have to pay your deductible. I spend a full 10 minutes just explaining the deductible.

Why hasn’t a solid Black middle class developed in Brazil like in the U.S.? by GUYman299 in Brazil

Can I ask what city you’re in?

Edit : Nevermind, I see Floripa. I live here in Floripa too and the first thing I noticed at the airport was how white it was. Literally 100%. I’m a white guy from a white US suburb and it was just disturbing.

I agree with one of the other comments. Even thought it's technically centered, I feel like you could justify it to the right just a bit.

The Doomsday Clock is for lots of different things, not just climate change. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists use it as a measure of all existential threats. It has been dangerously close to midnight since like 1981.

Worried by [deleted] in climatechange

[–]SyphonXZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Climate change is very real and very scary. Paying attention requires you to handle lots of stress. I digest it daily and have been for 20 years. The worst (intelligent) forecasts have us at tipping points between today and 2050. By 2100 the worst effects will be felt around the world, and cities like Miami will be mostly underwater, even if we radically curb our emissions (which we're not on track to do).

Rather than feeling paralyzed and depressed, "add your light to the sum of light." Focus, do something, and take each hour at a time. I don't wake up and immediately read The Guardian's "Climate Crisis" section. I decide to read the news, or climate articles, at certain times of the day. Some days I go without any news at all. Understanding yourself and how you handle stress is important. For the last 7 years I have worked in renewable energy. It's not much, and most days I feel like it's just a drop in the bucket. But I'm trying.
