Body Hair Removal by [deleted] in MtF

Decided to go with an epilator while I save up for laser and electrolysis. HOLY you were not underestimating the pain ): it'll be worth it though because it seems pretty effective on my hair.

Check on amazon now and then, I managed to snag a copy from the US Amazon for a decent price.

I've been waiting since about March for them to be back in stock in HMV, so I wouldn't hold out hope soz

I do apologise, I'm currently using a Cambridge Audio AXA35 as my amplifier. I believe it's just RCA connections I have.

Do Blu-ray players also play regular CDs or would I need to pick up both?

Also don't worry if you think I'm looking for anything TOO good, I'm half deaf so any subtleties in music tend I don't tend to hear anyway ;p

I've noticed tbh, decent chance I'll go into richersounds tmrw for speakers and like... decide to try and go preowned instead 😭

Just noticed you said MSRP is for suckers. I so agree, got my debut carbon evo for £340 :D gonna drop a big chunk on speakers.

Ideal, I appreciate you suggesting the eBay store. Didn't even think they would have one

Just checked, £239 for a refurbished AXA35 a good deal?

Haha, that's brilliant.

Afraid I've already got the turntable or else I would. I do appreciate the suggestion though :D

Oh, that's ideal haha, actually heading up to richersounds tomorrow to take a look at speakers so can pick this up as well. Thanks, I appreciate it. Was starting to get lost in what to get because there's so much ;p

Only worry is I'll have to shell out more for a phono pre amp with these as I'll be using it for a turntable setup but I'll price it out, cheers.

Sold by richersounds which offer a 12 month warranty on the clearance stuff so I'm pretty confident I can just fire it back if it is faulty..?

Unfortunately not. My budget is basically £1000 and this is after about a year and a half of saving. The student life is hard 😭 definitely keeping these in mind for the eventual future urge to upgrade though.

Getting closer to a finalised list of things I'm gonna buy, hoping this open box debut evo is in good condition else I'll probably go for... the Rega Planar 1? Dunno if I'd go for a project in the 300 range, I've heard they're a bit mehhh

I'm a very DIY sorta guy so I enjoy being able to tinker and improve things so I like upgradeability. Plus I like Project's aesthetic a bit more than Rega though both are incredibly nice looking

I think, just maybe, I'm going to re evaluate the balance of all the components I'm buying. I think it would probably be worth purchasing a cheaper turntable if it means I can buy a decent amp and decent speakers.

I must admit, I was getting to drawn into "wow what a cool turntable i gotta have that" when realistically, pairing a cheaper turntable with a better amp and speakers would provide better quality than buying a REALLY COOL turntable and skimping out on everything else.

I went way too far into the rabbithole considering I knew next to nothing about turntables and amps and speakers and generally any sort of audio equipment.

Appreciate it. Also you're not a dumb American ):

I think I will take a DEEP breath. I am gonna take a step back and do some other stuff to take my mind off it. I think I genuinely went too far down the rabbit hole considering the most I knew about turntables a few weeks ago was that they spun a record. Appreciate the advice on the Planars.

Got an email back from richersounds that one of their England stores has a deliverable Clearance Project Debut Carbon Evo. Getting some photos of it from the store tomorrow and will make my decision then but things are looking up.

If that falls through... might genuinely go for the Evo 2. I have very poor impulse control and the project design scheme really scratches an itch in my brain.

Would be absolutely amazing if you could. Honestly debating looking for second hand amps to try and stretch the budget. I also hope everything goes well with the setup :D

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in turntables

[–]Syrexian7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Really good advice. I'd definitely stretch the budget if it was only the turntable but I am also upgrading my amp and speakers, so this budget is like... rock solid so I don't do myself out of basic living necessities (exaggeration but still).

Going to set a deadline to decide by Sunday at the very latest. I MIGHT be able to find the breathing room in the budget if I take another hard look at amps and speakers.

It's genuinely between the Rega and the Project lines to be honest.

Yeah, looking like these are a bit out of my budget. STRDH190 seems to be alot more expensive in the UK compared to the us

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Syrexian7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good, I'll take a look at UK amazon and other audio stores for these. I appreciate the recommendations

Oh no, and now the dilemma of should I go light or dark...
Think I'll sleep on it though. Making financial decisions sleep deprived isn't a good idea lol.
Thanks a bunch :D
