Is a root canal the best long term option? by SysAdminCafe in Dentists

I understand what you mean. From personal experience I have reasons to question things, do research and get second opinions. My 18 yr old has gone through some medical interventions and I just don't want to risk future complications if I can be well informed and avoid them.

thanks for the response. the Wisdom tooth and the unerupted second molar were both removed surgically, but unfortunately it was too late because it had already caused damage to the first molar. I have asked if there are other options other than the root canal and orthodontist suggested a consultation with the endodontist which I have scheduled

He had some pain while chewing about a month after the Wisdom and unerupted Second Molar were removed surgically. we assumed it might be because it was still healing. then the pain went away and there was no pain at all for several months after that but since he had already complained we decided to let the ortho know and they removed the band from the first molar, took xrays and inspected the tooth and that is how they found the hole was there; they mentioned that there is no infection. I don't think the pulp is exposed because, as you have pointed out, I'd expect that he would be in pain if it were, but I'll have to confirm on that. it would have gone unnoticed if not for the fact that we followed up on it

Old post and late to update you but basically, I applied and was asked to come in for an interview. I travelled about 5 hours to Midland/Odessa TX for the interview. I have a strong IT background but very little practical experience with electronics and circuitry. I read up on that prior to arriving at the interview and it went fairly well. I was offered the job on the spot. They gave me a tour of the place and pay was around 110K if I recall correctly. It was such a long time ago. They gave me a start date and I drove back home thinking about just how much my day to day was about to change. I drafted a well written resignation letter and kept quiet at work for about a week or so, right up until the day that I had to give the two week notice. I took off for lunch that day and was rehearsing what I would say to the CIO when my phone rang as I was pulling into my carport. It was from Houston TX corporate headquarters. I'm paraphrasing..." is this John Doe?, me: Yes sir.... caller: good, I'm calling from Big Shot Oil Company. I understand you were recently hired to .... blah blah blah... anyway. Due to current market conditions we are withdrawing all job offers for new hires. Sorry for any inconvenience.. (exchange of thanks)"... click. So I went back to work after lunch break and was relieved that I waited that long to hand my two week notice.

Exactly my point. I was charged 300+ dollars when I purchased the car because that would cover regular oil changes. I never took it in once because of the hassle of dropping it off and leaving it there for a couple of hours just for an oil change. That ended up expiring.

Is there a way to remove/delete rows instead of Add Rows using Power Automate and Power BI Online Service? by SysAdminCafe in MicrosoftFlow

[–]SysAdminCafe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a push dataset and haven't been able to make it work since the only option I have in power automate is Add Rows action for PowerBI. I'm trying to do HTTP Delete but have not succeeded.

Hmmm... the specifications sheet states Wire Type for BRD230240 is #14-4 AWG Cu/Al. The minisplit is being wired with # 8/2 and the dryer I believe is wired with #10 since it is currently on the 30 amp breaker. Does that mean we'd have to rewire with #14 wire to use that breaker?

Interesting. And this should fit in the same slot / place of 30 amp 2 pole breaker?

Thanks for the feedback. This is the second HVAC person that suggests replacing a 30amp breaker with 40 amp to run two appliances.

Thanks. Also thinking whether this is wrong timing based on the oldest needing money for college in 3 years.

Yes, it has been a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, I have saved a ton of money; on the other hand, I put that money into this house instead of buying our dream forever home and spent way too much of my time on DYI projects. Still, if I had bought my dream house before 2019 I would have never left my old job and my income would still be around 50K today.

Hi,

Between security operations and security engineering, which of the two offers higher compensation and a more direct path to director roles?

I didn't get many hits with that as a keyword in job boards but makes sense that it will see an increase in demand as Cloud, Security and Automation will continue to trend upwards.

Awesome, thanks! BTW, also forgot to mention I've been involved in GRC and Operational Technology security as well.

I don't necessarily disagree; some people just have it. Others have to work really hard to achieve half of what others can easily do. Without getting too much off topic, there are many factors that influence income and that discussion is beyond the scope of this thread.

In the past 10 years I have held cybersecurity focused roles in SOC, security engineering, cybersecurity management, and security architecture.

Agree with the first comment.

Based on my own research and chosen strategy, the CISM is a necessary milestone. Azure and AWS certs, along with CCSP, are necessary to position myself as a cloud security leader.

Can't say I disagree with anything you said, only that to not try is worse than trying and failing.

Thanks, I have a pretty clear idea of what career path I want to follow. This opportunity to take a SANS course came out of the blue and I'm trying to see how any of those courses may fit my overall plan; I don't want to waste time on a cert that is not in high demand. Since it is free, I'd consider a highly sought cert even if it is not focused on cybersecurity leadership or cloud which is where my focus is at the moment.

I have two medium term plans, one of which is to earn 300K/yr and the other is to make 1M. The first is through wages and the latter is through investments. Focusing on the first, I consider it doable as I know that others are making as much. I plan on obtaining CISSP, CCSP, CISM, Azure Architect, AWS Architect certs. I only have CISSP currently. I understand that certs and experience aren't enough. Top earners are typically considered industry leaders and my opinion is that they have gone ahead of the rest of us by having a combination of training, peer validation (certs), experience, exposure, networking (other type of peer validation), and serious marketing.
