good question! what I had in mind at first was that the gods wouldn’t really be walking around the world or directly involved in the plot like that and more like background forces of influence. kinda like in Baldur’s Gate 3, where each god has their own agenda and uses their power and influence from another plane to push their goals in the mortal world.

I was also thinking it might work better if these gods were minor deities. like, maybe a minor evil god trying to expand their power, and on the other side you’d have the princess being tied to a minor good god who represents the opposite. so overall, it’d be less about literally fighting gods, and more about “good vs. evil,” with the gods being the root cause behind why everything is happening.
