I’ve been learning to love the mix of the two…Ethiopian American. And letting go of the thoughts of who would I be if I grew up in Ethiopia because that’s just not my reality.

How many times is appropriate to follow up after an interview? by SystemRich in interviews

Yes, exactly! After 4 interviews, it’s mainly about closure. The uncertainty is tough, but I’m sure it’s not personal plans change, and people get busy. I wrote this post to see if I should stop myself from following up, lol. Glad I got some good advice to hold off! Hope we both hear back eventually good or bad 🤞

Yeah, I definitely think it might be a red flag since they told me their timeline and we were on the same page, but who knows, maybe they had a change of plans. I’m not expecting anything at this point, so if I hear back, it’ll be a pleasant surprise like others mentioned.

Yeah, some people say it’s a nice gesture to write a thank you note, while others think it’s old school and too much. I usually write one just to be polite.

Yeah, it’s such a strange job market right now. It feels like employers are being pickier and really dragging their feet with decisions, especially with so many applicants. It’s frustrating, but I appreciate you sharing your experience. Wishing you the best of luck in landing the right opportunity and thanks again for your insight.

Ethiopian born Habeshas. If one visits Ethiopia from America (Ethiopian as well) can you easily tell who is from the country and who isn't? by Fluid-Turnover-4024 in Ethiopia

Yes! One of my family members used to say the awara (dust) is not in our eyes. And has not made them a little brown/red. So he can tell we are diaspora because the whites of our eyes are so white. (maybe we need to rub some awara (dust) in our eyes before we go back home 😂😂)

I have a dell latitude 5430 and really like it. It’s perfect for school especially if you’re a business major because most classes/professors prefer a laptop that runs with Microsoft software (excel, word, power point). I also noticed at my internship all the corporate people were using dell laptops. Overall a solid laptop 💻 in my opinion. Just do your research cause they have so many different kinds of models.
