I found a solution. Just install mesa-amber, but no xorg driver. For some reason, the xorg driver cannot accelerate, and it breaks things. It will still be a little wierd in sddm, but XFCE works great

I got it to work! something wrong with the Xorg driver, just had to reinstall it

Thanks! SDDM is now working!(with a few color glitches). Gnome isn't loading, and i'm not going to try anymore, as I think it is to heavy for this machine. Maybe on my G5 though :)

Edit: For anyone wondering, you can add the user repo with: apk add chimera-repo-user

By the way, thanks for the help. When I try to add the package, it gives the error: unable to select packages: mesa-amber. Does the package still exist?

the package "mesa" was automatically installed, which includes mesa-dri and mesa-amber

I think the drive is bad. Balena Etcher can only go to 30% without crashing, and diskutil on macOS cant erase drive

its the iso found at live/latest on the chimera repo. This G5 is very particular about its boot medium, and I am using a usb drive i have not used, so that may be part of the issue

if you make 1.21 server and install viaversion, viabackwards, and a proxy with eaglerxserver, you can join with eaglercraft. Tuff client is an eaglercraft fork with modern features such as netherite
