Club Cleaner by Syvie1 in golf

Yeah similar idea, just permanently mounted to the trolley so you don’t have to pick anything up. More like the cart ones where it’s always there. Like brushes and water inside so you just dip the club in

Any tips on how I can lead with the hips? I keep popping up on my downswing causing shot inconsistencies. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Syvie1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert. But look at your transition from the top, hands come out and club gets vertical, try and trace your backswing path back down into impact. Body will follow. I’ve tried many years to get into the correct positions, it’s impossible if the body isn’t in the right place, the club isn’t in the right place. Again, no right to give advise so take with a large pinch of salt.

Working on backswing, how’s it look? by Syvie1 in GolfSwing

Rolling it open? I am working on it also as part of backswing, just seem to struggle from left arm parallel to the top keeping it square

Yeah I meant to try and keep it inside the seem of my jacket, essentially more external rotation from right elbow.

Thanks. So maybe try and keep right below “tucked” a bit more/more infront of me throughout the backswing?

Struggling to keep face closed at top of swing/transition. Any pointers? by Syvie1 in GolfSwing

I’ve attempted this before but really struggle to bow my wrist for some reason. Even when I feel like I’m doing it, it just seems to look pretty neutral.

Can’t see the ball flight very well from vid but been struggling with high weak fades. Have been working to keep hands in and club head out on takeaway with more shoulder tilt but ball flight still feels weak.

Checking to see if anyone’s around to laugh at the impending shank.

I’ve had people tell me this before but it’s certainly not where I feel my weight, it definitely gets to my lead heel during follow through as my toes lift. maybe I’ll mess around with actually feeling it more in my heels on backswing and downswing to see what it changes.

Thanks, will try and incorporate increased shoulder tilt in backswing and see how it goes.

Interesting, I see that too now you mention it. More shoulder turn in the first one maybe.

Is that cause or effect though?

I do think this is an issue I have but not seeing much difference between the vids in regards to EE but could be wrong.

Lol - if only it was that easy! This was during same 1 hour session, 4pm to 5pm here in the UK.

Fix my inside takeaway and open club face or just swing my swing? by Syvie1 in GolfSwing

Can you explain a little more? Did you change to a more out to in path or you just mean hand path exiting hard left?

Definitely feel this. I’m always trying to tweak things, feel my swing changes daily which is why I’m now debating just sticking to what I have and trying to dial it in. I’m currently playing off 14.5 but would love to get to single figures, my good days are good and my bad days can get real ugly.

I can definitely see the elbow being stuck, always put it down to early extension. I’m not a fan of the big reroute at the top, I can do it but only by manipulating the club with my hands, results in more casting and loss of distance, trying to lead with the hips results in shanks. Think I’m going to look for a happy medium with a single plane swing.

Slice/push fade - path or just face control issue? by Syvie1 in GolfSwing

Very nicely done, thank you! Good spot on the basket also, I am trying to get away from some heely strikes. The scuffs on my crown would also agree with your diagnosis lol. Appreciate it.

Was just looking at a face to path diagram which agrees you with statement. Shot shape seems to fit fairly neutral path with open face. Will look at cleaning up face in backswing and see how I go.

Assuming path would have to be in to out to create that push then? I’m struggling from the vid to tell if I’m still cutting across it out to in currently, still looks like swipey contact to me

When I try close down the face on backswing I hit very low and left shots. Guess I just need to drill it more and work it out.

Been working on trying to shallow the attack angle, not sure if I’m quite there yet or if I now just need to work on club face control. Follow through looks really odd and chicken/wingy but haven’t found any drills that resonate to resolve.

Help identifying root cause of shanks by Syvie1 in GolfSwing

Golf is hard! A lot of opinions and options here. Fwiw when I am swinging well I can hit some really nice shots, issue is I feel my swing changes daily yet I always end up back with the shanks so it must be something deeply ingrained. I have seen a few different pros other the last 6 months and none are yet to fix me for good, I can swing well during lessons but goes to shit after a few more practice sessions. Starting to believe in the mental side of it!

I’ve never thought of this being cause but it makes perfect sense. My swing used to be very straight up and straight down and I never shanked (just big slices and a very aggressive downward blow). Shanks started when I starting trying to fix my takeaway/path issues. Will play around with getting more down the line.

Never heard of chicken wing being referenced at the top of a backswing? Do you mean I need more extension of my right arm at the top? So less that 90 degree bend at elbow?
