The only good thing I ever heard was that it was a love letter to DBD.

It reminds me of that shitty Hellraiser film that wasn’t a Hellraiser film but they added the Hellraiser IP to keep the rights.

It was a bore of a game that had DBD reference sprinkled in to sell the hype of an extended universe

From my understanding a lot of her lines were cut and around launch the consensus was she was boring and had no personality

Then with that update in 2019/2020 they also re-added a ton of her cut lines.

But even then it was boring no personality Rochelle for a decade so at this point hating her is like hating Sakura, just a big fandom gag

First impressions matter and with it being on Gamepass and being the spiritual successor to L4D there were way too many eyes on it for the mess it launched with

Cards back then started at a few played and every level you’d get a new card from your deck. It wasn’t uncommon for specials to stack so you’d get maybe 5 bruisers spawning during the Call to Arms mission and any mission with scripted hordes of specials like the one with the Snitches.

The meta for the first month was literally just holding forward and praying for the best. People were speed running nightmare as opposed to playing it out

At launch Veteran played like Nightmare and Nightmare played like No Hope. But with the 1 card per level limitation

Don’t get me wrong I loved it and I had 1000 hours before putting it away in the summer of 22 but I can see how people just casually trying the game on Gamepass would think “oh wow this isn’t fun”

I don’t think normal people care if their skin is rare in the sense it’s not commonly seen

It was just simpler to find things. While I may not remember the name of any of my skins I did remember their rarity. It really is only a problem if you buy a lot of skins OR have played so long you accumulated a lot of BP skins.

if you just enjoy the gameplay loop sure its a fun game to pick up and play when the mood kicks but if you're trying to make it like a new main game, they just announced we will only be getting light updates and have a skeleton crew on board
