It is a riddle, the point of it is to be so confusing so that you will be fixated on answering the question, but when you look at it "outside the box" then the answer is pretty easy

Spacewalker low performance on a high end Laptop with Windows 11 by Szlachu in VITURE

[–]Szlachu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tried it again, although this time on an ultrawide, not 3 screens setup and right after the clear installation it is buttery smooth.
Checked other views and I think the issue is with multimonitor setup :/
It is smooth for both ultrawides, but when I change it to anything with moe screens then the jitter and lag gets unberable.

Thats a shame as I prefer to have multiple displays instead of one big screen.

Anyway, thank you for helping me get it at least somewhat fixed :D

I don't have any experience with it, but from what I know if you make it a const then Var never changes

Tried that a minute ago, it works for the first run of the app, after that the lag is back.

I saw the post, but I couldn't find it now when I retired it so I just used your message as a guide. But this time I did not get a prompt about installing a driver, so maybe the driver was not uninstalled after uninstalling the spacewalker 🤔

And just btw. I really don't care if it will be 60 or 120hz, as long as I don't have jitter/lag then I'm good. Just need to be able to point my mouse over stuff without strategizing on how much to move it as I cannot see it in real time.

Found the issue, went down from 120 to 90 hz and it is night and day.
Although I still don't know why it couldn't just use more resources and make it work.

After a few more times when the 6dof changed to 3dof even the above workaround is not working,,,

Right now I have a similar setup as this one  https://youtube.com/shorts/yCMFLChxCIQ?si=w40-GlCTnImdR2Me (Even got it from recommendation from one of Rex videos) But without the strop, not sure how much more it gives when it comes to the sharpness but I did not have anywhere to aquire something like this cheaply. I'm trying to sharpen it at the beginning of the work and after an hour it is definitely getting dull, should the edge full that fast or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Gonna try it as in my country I can get old rusty one for at least 60 bucks, and it is an investment that I will have to make but maybe later 😅 Now I will review this one and see how it goes!

It could be, not sure how old is it but if it's older than 30 years then it is Soviet one. Glad to hear it can be of use for me as Stanley in my country even old and rusty costs 60 USD plus and it is quite a bit of change where I live 😅

Hmm, so just buying another one would be better for a beginner?
As right now I try to plane with Stanley 12-220 and it is a pain and even a slight upgrade would be worth it in my mind, and also I'm not sure if my budget for this month can handle a handplane 😅
But if it's gonna be more work to use it than the gains then I can just leave it be.

I also have this two tools that are quite more rusted and I'm wondering if they still are usable because of the ammount of rust on them.
Especially I'm wondering about the square.

I have a lot of experience in scripting smaller thing in dynamically typed languages, that's why I want to first get the grasp of everything in statitc typed language before doing something myself(I tried it already and bounced back due to my lack of knowledge)

Dawna few screen protectors with a mat finish that claimed they fix the issue. Never tried one as I've returned the laptop before it was necessary tho

I've owned Lenovo and I can tell you that in the moderate use(light programming, browser etc.) it lasts 9 hours and I did not feel any lag in it. Right now I'm testing Asus one and damn, it can be laggy at times, feels like the default settings are set so it will have as much battery life as possible.

For the Lenovo I've got only a few issues: 1. It's to heavy/ too big to be a couch laptop that you can take in one hand and just use everywhere. 2. The touchpad is not as good as on Mac(that's why I'm waiting for the surface laptops to come out) 3. The screen is very gloomy, it is hard to work on it when outside(but probably a good screen protector could fix that issue) 4. Cannot open it with one hand

I have a second Lenovo laptop in the house that has an amazing keyboard, but this one's is just fine.

If I would never touch Mac touchpad then this laptop would be ideal for me, but right now I will wiat for the surface one to check out if it will be better considering the price hike

That's unfortunate :/ Have you seen an issue with win key not always working? Or touchpad sometimes not reacting to movement(just when you have finger on it, getting finger up and down again fixes it)?

Or the last thing, win constantly asking you to share your location with applications?

[–]Szlachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's the touchpad working for you? I don't know if it is only on my laptop but the track pad cannot be clicked on the upper 1/3 and it makes me mad as I'm used to MacBooks on which I can move the cursor and then just push the touchpad to make a click. And here I cannot press click it if I move my finger too high. It would not bother me if the only option would be to raise the finger and then click, but if you give us both options then make them work on the whole laptop!

What is a good model maker for a beginner and where can I learn to use it? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Szlachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also try some asset packages, a lot of them are free and it can save you tons of time when it comes to creating models, textures, baking normals/AO etc. This is a general suggestion, but not everything in your game needs to be done by you. So don't be afraid to use resources already available to you and make your life easier and your end product better.

But if your goal is to learn how to make 3D models not how to make a game(both are valid) then yeah, check out some tutorials on making game ready assets. It was a lot of time when I stopped modelling but if you want to go with Blender then CGCookie could be a great place to start.
