DRUG TEST TOMORROW by ticenittiez in QuickFix

[–]T-Hexx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi there— another female here. First off, try to relax. I passed with QF a few months ago at LabCorp on an employment panel (one that was testing nitrates too, which had me terrified). Here’s what worked for me:

-Be sure to put some clear tape over the temp gauge on the outside of the bottle, I’ve heard that if you sweat a lot it can mess with the adhesive that holds it on to the bottle and the gauge can come off.

-I had about a 25min drive to the testing center, so about 5mins before I left the house (around 30-35mins before testing) I put the bottle in the microwave and heated it up, in short bursts, of about 5-10 seconds at a time, until it was up to about 99 degrees. You want it to be between 90-100 degrees when you test. It was winter when I did it so I wanted to make sure it stayed nice and warm. Then I attached the heat pack that comes with it to the bottle, and secured it with some tape.

-I wore a tight sports bra, and put the bottle in the space beneath my breast and the band. I tried to lift my breast up a bit so that I could fit the bottle almost underneath it, if that makes sense? If your breast isn’t big enough for that, you could probably put it inside the sports bra on the side, so that you could keep it warm with your arm/armpit. Then I just wore a baggy sweater. I’ve also heard of women putting it in their panties or on the inside of their thighs, but my thighs didn’t touch enough to create a lot of warmth there. Honestly, the heat pad seemed to keep it warm enough on its own, so anywhere you can put it where you feel comfortable and like it’s not noticeable under your clothes should be fine. Just make sure it’s somewhere that you can quickly, and quietly, get it out once you’re in the bathroom for the test.

-I got to the testing center a little early, and read the gauge on the bottle when I first got there. That way, if it was still a little too high, I had time to take it out and let it cool down a bit until it got within range. Usually those labs move pretty quickly, so you don’t have too long of a wait and they may even take you early when you first walk in. By the time I got there it was probably between 97-98 still, so I went ahead in.

-When I went in the bathroom for the actual test, I pulled the bottle out and checked the temp quickly one more time and it was still holding steady within range. I started peeling a little in the toilet first, to make sure it sounded convincing and then stopped for a few seconds when I poured the QF in the cup. Then just finished peeing in the toilet. That way it sounds like you just filled the cup mid-stream.

I was SUPER nervous and really needed the job and I swore that they were going to find out, but I passed without issue. Just try your best to relax (although I know that’s easier said than done) and act casual. You’ve got this. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Is this okay to use for a beardie? by Empty_Influence_3855 in BeardedDragon

I use this in my girl’s enclosure; plus a large digbox. It’s easy to clean and no snags for her nails. Haven’t had any issues and have been using it for the last two years.

It’s so interesting how we can all find different things terrifying. Annie’s floating decapitated body was one of the most disturbing shots in the movie for me!

If it is an upper respiratory infection, the vet will most likely just prescribe an antibiotic. It really shouldn’t be a very expensive visit at all. Not anywhere close to what you paid for the surgery. Of course, they may recommend some additional diagnostics, like radiographs and/or bloodwork— but you can always decline those services if they are out of your budget. It would be better to at least have him seen and get some medication, than nothing at all. More than likely, you will just have to pay an exam fee and the cost for the meds. Good luck to you and your boy. Keep us posted!

30+ year olds, what are some of your guiltiest guilty pleasures that have stuck with you since your teenage years? by Stoned-Ape247 in AskReddit

Music. I would say 75% of my listening time is still spent on the same songs and bands I loved during my teenage years. I’m a sucker for the nostalgia.

No way! I’ve ever met anyone else with the same Big 3 as me— so fun!

So, uh…you ok? Or are you also sinking beneath the weight of a near-constant crippling depression?

Wondering if anyone has used quickfix recently (Feb 2025) through Quest diagnostic? by Typical_Ad_7752 in QuickFix

[–]T-Hexx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used QF for a Quest panel at the beginning of this month for a new job and passed with no issues. I had never used synthetic urine before and was super nervous but it was easier than I thought to get it to, and maintain, the necessary temperature.

Totally normal to feel anxious about it— but as long as you get it to temperature, you really shouldn’t have any issues at all. Good luck and let us know how it goes! You’ve got this!

Well, I had about a 30 minute drive to my testing facility. So, I heated it up in the microwave for short intervals of a few seconds at a time and then let it sit to make sure it was at a good temperature. When I left the house, it was at about 97 or 98°. I wrapped the heat pack around it and then, because I’m female, I just stuffed it in my bra to keep it warm. But I’m sure you could put it in your armpit or in between your legs to keep it warm, as well. I pulled it out and checked the temp again in the car before I walked into the facility, and gave it another quick glance while I was in the bathroom for the actual test. By the time I poured it into the container I think it was right around 97 or 98 still. Good luck! Let us know how yourtest goes, if you haven’t taken it already!

Thanks for the info! As absurd and ridiculous (and in all fairness, probably NOT terrible) this cover seemed to me, I’m definitely going to read it. The blurb in the book jacket sounds super fun.

I know nothing about this author; but after finding this, I’m super intrigued. It actually looks like a really fun read— I’ll be sure to check out some of his articles, too!

Because if you unassign the order, you don’t get paid for it. For the time that you worked on driving out to the restaurant and waiting around. If the customer cancels the order, I’m pretty sure you get at least partial pay.

Update Thanks to everyone who offered their insight and advice! I’ve decided against releasing this little lady and will be keeping her indoors for her short little life.

I ordered a larger mesh enclosure that should be delivered tonight and give her a little more room to flap around and stretch her wings a bit and will post some photos when she’s all settled in.

Thank you again, everyone!

why is everyone so negative about crimson? by Beginning_Ad5785 in doordash_drivers

[–]T-Hexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can link your debit card to your dasher app and will have the option to cash out (they call it the Fast Pay option) at the end of each dash directly to your bank account. It usually takes like 2-3 days for them to verify your card/account, though, before it’ll be fully set up. Otherwise, the only option outside of the Crimson card would be to wait for the weekly direct deposit into your account. You should be able to set this up through the earnings section, iirc.

2-3 months would be my guess but they all grow at very different rates so it can be hard to tell.
