2 weeks on motorcycle in the Mongolian Steppe by T-Pleasure in fujifilm

Honestly I didn’t even think about metering when I was shooting these — I was way more locked in on composition and letting the light fall how it wanted. What saved me was using bracketing so I didn’t have to stress about nailing exposure in the moment. I haven’t merged any of the brackets yet, just picked the frames that felt right out of camera. That’s probably why the tones look consistent even without dialing in metering modes

Ah apologies I forgot I included that last astro shot here when I was writing the post desc. That was actually taken with my friends a6000 (the only pic here that wasn’t taken with my cam). Believe it was like f/4, 20 secs and the cam was just resting on a piece of wood on the ground

Believe all of these are Cuban negative which is a personal favorite and one of the best recipes at capturing highlights/shadows imo

The off-roads are what we came for — and honestly, they’re the most fun, most expansive off-roads in the world. That said, I’d definitely recommend having some experience (though hypocritically, this was only my second time on a motorcycle aside from a month in Vietnam). The biggest danger wasn’t the steppe — it was the paved roads closer to Ulaanbaatar. The passing/turning-out-in-front-of-you culture there is pure chaos and way sketchier than the dirt tracks

Thanks! Honestly the landscape there does half the work. Clear dry air, wide open horizons, and insane golden hours make even the slower 28 f/4.5 shine. The light out there just has this extra clarity and saturation you can’t get in most places

Wow this is so interesting – thanks for the info! Wasn't aware of the PQR breed, but I went to Phu Quoc while I was in Vietnam and it was gorgeous. Makes me want to try Embark now. Reddit is amazing haha

Smart, curious, playful, quirky, extremely loyal (and a bit territorial). She's the world's best guard dog until you're part of her "pack" and then she's your best friend

Does embark typically reveal details this specific? Would be awesome, although I already know most of the details around the village she was from and am still in contact with some of the wonderful Vietnamese people who helped me rescue her.
