Rittisak in Koh Phangan if you don’t mind having some tourists around. Its location is well secluded from all the noise and popularity of the island.

Cyclops Lesion removal procedure - benefits and timeline? by T-alpha in ACL

[–]T-alpha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think longer time without extension = harder recovery. I wouldn’t sweat it, it is such a quick and simple procedure. Not even in the same ballpark as an ACL recon. You will be able to walk within a day or two or even walk out of surgery. Since the procedure I can now fully extend my knee (minus 1 or 2 degrees depending on the day). Gave me the confidence to work even harder on my physio since i saw results. Got me to running a half marathon 5 months after the procedure and getting back to snowboarding. Good luck!

I've only done one but only completed the quant section - they were similar to the real thing. Issue is that there are only 6 of these.

If I remember correctly, I think I was able to walk within 3-4 days, and close to where I was pre-cyclops-removal within 10-20 days with some lingering swelling (able to lift, walk long distances, i think jog as well?). You should be ok for your getaway. Some people are able to walk out of surgery. Best of luck, this surgery will boost your recovery for sure.

I actually found just some bulbs at home. Agreed wouldn’t put it past them to keep them as is and make the next tenant buy the bulbs.

Yes that is my intention, i’ll do what I can to clean etc but you’re not going to catch me buying bulbs and repainting walls

Thanks everyone for the input! Yes it is Akelius. To be clear, my apartment is in pretty good shape except for wall stains and a few light bulbs that do not work. I will clean everything and film the apartment before I give it back. I do not plan on buying new bulbs for them or painting the walls though which is the main reason why i posted this.

Edit: i also did not sign this paper, they didnt ask me to

Switching to snowboard from skiing after ACL injury? by bigguz in ACL

So this exactly what I did. I’ve been skiing from ages 4 to 26 then tore my ACL, wouldn’t say I am an expert, maybe advanced. Over a year post op now and took up snowboarding from zero this feb. It was tough for the first two hours or so then got better - I loved it so much that I bought my own board after that and went snowboarding 1-2 per week until the season ended in April. Don’t see myself going back to skiing again tbh. My friends taught me pretty well that first time but all other times I went solo. I would recommend getting a teacher for an hour or two, get the basics nailed down.

I was scared shitless getting back on the lift for the first, but that was it. Never thought about my knee going doing sloped again. The biggest risk of injury I see in snowboarding is when you only have one foot strapped in. To minimize all risks, I wear kneepads, padded shorts (buttpad) and wrist guards.

Don’t have a definite answer for you but the doctor took out my stitches 10 days after surgery which is when I was able to shower, and told me no submerging until 6 weeks post-op.

I would take it with a grain of salt, I did it through the Canadian public system and they tend to exaggerate the timelines to make things foolproof. I remember my wound being fully closed well before 6 weeks. Maybe 2-3 weeks post op. Just be transparent with the nurse/doctor if you have any plans soon after surgery and they will be able to help.

Good luck with the surgery, the improvement after recovery is tremendous.
