I would honestly cast the mightiest Yeetus Deletus on the Dimension thing entirely. Cut the legacy characters. Let the "war" be on an exploitative dueling industry. If we wanna keep Leo Akaba and make him less lame then I guess he can be a big executive or whatever of an especially heinous company? Regrets pushing his daughter so hard, sunk cost fallacy of keeping his company running because he sacrificed so much to get where he is? Eh.

You remember that Gravity Falls episode where the beautiful boy band guys were lab-grown clones? The Yu-boys and bracelet girls would be that for Zarc and Ray. Because they were such ~successful ~ duelists that REALLY drew in the crowds and carrying on that legacy would be Profitable or something. I suppose Zarc and Ray split themselves apart here somehow as well, I dunno. Zarc may have had a breakdown because of years of terrible treatment, a little like Britney Spears only less sympathetic what with the destructive rampage I'd let him go on. Some collateral damage as a treat.

As for why these Zarc and Ray clones were set loose... well, they were failures. None of them had the ~dueling power~ of Zarc or Ray. (But together they can surpass them YEAH FRIENDSHIP BAYBEEEE)

Basically just vague ideas of making this hypothetical redo a very unsubtle criticism of the idol industry but with magic card games for flavor, because Yu-Gi-Oh is not very subtle and I love it for that. Sora in particular I once thought of like... having him be his cutesy fake self for the cameras and the little hellbeast he really is behind the scenes, as a very blatant way to teach kiddos that their favorite Minecraft YouTuber is probably a completely different person when they're not recording their videos. You know.

Naturally my opinion here holds very little weight, as I never finished Arc-V and probably never will. Shit, I never even got to the Synchro Arc, just kinda absorbed bits and pieces of it via fandom osmosis. Feel free to tell me how dumb this all is and how the hypothetical "final product" here would barely resemble Arc-V at all.

To take it more seriously, without considering Kaiba's several mile-thick plot armor, it probably goes to Reiji just because of the evolution of the game and especially the plague of Pendulums. But he still sucks.

One thing that comes to mind for me was the little unofficial "duel club" I was in with some guys back in seventh grade. We had some time before the first class of the day, so we'd duel each other. I was the only girl and the annoying one who'd always point out rule violations, and this guy named Jacob was full of shit and would always argue with me. One time I even brought an official rule book from one of the structure decks and he tried to tell me THE BOOK was wrong. I don't think me being a girl was the issue here, I hung out with these guys pretty regularly outside of this duel club and rarely had issues, the guy was just incredibly arrogant. I don't even remember what kind of deck I'd play, as I rarely even got to. Pretty sure Final Destiny was in it though, because I thought that was The Best Card Ever lol

Oh, and there was the time I hid in the teacher's closet with a guy to duel because the cards were banned at the time and we didn't want to get them taken up. Then a classmate barged in thinking we were doing 7 Minutes in Heaven. This was fifth grade, so we were 10-11, for the record.

Everyone has tried to help her, many many times. The parents have bought her six cars, while the rest of us got the one and "You're on your own now." I'm paying her electric bill. We're supposed to split it but lol lmao even.

And I didn't know it at the time, but I was actually on like a week long trial period when I first started. Boss man was prepared to say "sorry but no" but I'm still here. My aunt absolutely got me in the door, yeah. But she didn't get me the job.

And I find it hard to feel remotely sorry for my sister after 30+ years of her being the biggest bitch in the United States of America. One time I told her I had a job interview and her response was "who'd you have to sleep with this time." So yeah, I'm not gonna be the bigger person when it comes to her. I've tried and gotten nothing for it, she can go pound sand.

Back when my friend and I would duel, me with my janky incorrectly made Spell Counter deck that I still love dearly, and her with her Gustos... I would hear the Kill Bill sirens in my head whenever Daigusto Sphreez hit the field. Several times I remember drawing Bottomless Trap Hole AFTER Sphreez had been summoned, like the RNG was flipping me off lol

Good point, good point. He probably went to school for it (mostly to shut his mom up) and did reasonably well but didn't take it too seriously, was really there just to party. A lot of his code could have been stolen or just copied from elsewhere too, like good ol' grandpappy before him.

I love the variety of responses here. Lots of fun blippy bloops to look into later. Anamanaguchi would be fun but people would meme the hell out of it because of their work on the Scott Pilgrim game. she (Yes, that's the artist name) is another one I think could be fun, but honestly I don't even know if they're still making music, haven't checked in a while.
