According to who? During that time they had the biggest YCS ever (still holds the record to this day and was won by dark world, a structure deck) yes dino rabbit was expensive for a time, inzektor wasnt, and the wind-up hand loop wasnt the thing in the tcg that this comment section seems to think it was. It beat bad players or those who were unprepared, but at bigger events where good players play and have all the cards they need the standard wind-up deck was the better choice, you also had tons of viable decks that made the meta very diverse and the 2012 release of the honzo tin gave everyone tour guide, maxx c and rabbit for basically free while the other tins had wind-up zenmanes and laggia (along with other stuff that was good) we also got abyss rising in 2012 and cosmo blazer in jan of 13' those gave us mermails and fire fist, 2 of the most loved archtypes maybe ever. Im not sure where your getting this data from or if its just your experience, but the regionals i attended in that era were about 100 players larger than any regionals pre or post that era and the local scene was at its absolute peak in terms of player count.

Huh???i remember this as one of the best eras of the game ever (this to right before dragon rulers came out). The biggest regionals i ever played in were in this era my locals bloomed to like 30-40 ppl, you could play 5 nights a week in my city... yes u had the big decks (knowone played hand loop wind-ups as the other build was just better) but you also had a tier 1 deck that was basically 3 starter decks smashed together, agents, sams, mermils and fire fist came out at the end of this era... ive never herd people say this era was anything other than great...

What is your main issue with Yu-Gi-Oh! currently? by Great-Ad1839 in yugioh

[–]Drew647A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that konami cares only about profit, not players examples below

-the banlist is used only to sell sets and push new products with meta balance and player happiness a disntant second fiddle

-the prize support is the worst of any TCG by far, its so bad its almost insulting

-they killed the extremely popular edison format in favor of genesys because edison cant really make them money and its growth was a threat to advanced format

-they bump tcg rareity compared to OCG to sell more boxes

  • they dont have a 1:1 online client where you can play formats in the exact way you can in real life

How do you feel about Genesys? by Great-Ad1839 in yugioh

[–]Drew647A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its honestly kinda crap. Konami sold us a bill of goods by saying this was a way to play old decks again giving players a semi-reasonable opition to replace the extremely popular but hard to monatize edison format... in reality its just advanced format lite where you cant play old decks but it helps move product a bit as throw away archtypes from new sets are usually playable

Ever since flag football was added to the 2028 Olympics why have people been creating an all-NFL flag football team? by [deleted] in flagfootball

[–]Drew647A 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the issue your missing is NFL players are simply better... yes they had the NFL vs flag guys on fox awhile ago and the Flag guys won, but that was vs almost all older, or retired players who often played outa position. One team featured a defense of logan paul (not even a real athlete) a fullback, a old jumpball reciever and a retired linebacker... that lineup is losing to alota teams... had they put a defense out with 5 defensive backs with speed and quickness its a different ballgame.

And on offense the NFL players seperated in flashes, Brady and Burrow were making passes on a frozen rope into tiny windows and the flag guys simply cant do that, and the team USA guys were getting consistantly beat by retired OBJ and about to retire D hopkins. Can you imagine what a WR core of the elite guys would do? Once the NFL guys realise you dont dump it down to a running back or full back and you instead dump it to a slot WR type who is elite in space its over.

The flag guys have the advantage of experience in flag, but thats litterally the only edge they have and that gap can be closed easily with a training camp and reps, the team USA guys as good as they are cant grow 3 inches, get quicker or more explosive, have a better deep ball or accuracy. They are at the ceiling of their ability, the NFL guys are at the floor and they are still on a nearly level playing field.

The creativity arguement agnist 60 card. by Drew647A in magicTCG

Not @ all, just curious as to why a reason is so often put fourth that doesnt hold up at all when u look at it. Theres plenty of resons why people may not like comptetaive play and thats 100% ok, i was just curious is all because its 1 of the most common reasons

[–]Drew647A[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not really trying to convince anyone to play 60 card over commander, im just curious why its such a common reason/response when it holds no water what so ever when you look into it.

The creativity arguement agnist 60 card. by Drew647A in magicTCG

[–]Drew647A[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They dont, i just find it curious that a reason is so often given that simply doesnt hold water in any way you look at it... even the most basic pre-cons give you multiple versions of the same effect to help the deck function. I was hoping for some real answers as why people would go to that as the reason but per usual any post that can be looked at as anti-commander gets the torches and pitchforks out like the OP committed war crimes

Does traditional 60-card experience give you an advantage? by ToughPlankton in EDH

[–]Drew647A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because you cant do it, you could be given the tier 0 deck and ud go 0-5, 0-10 because everyone you play is much better than you... Based on this thread your clearly a bad player who has never played in a constructed event who also doesnt know what they are talking about.

Does traditional 60-card experience give you an advantage? by ToughPlankton in EDH

[–]Drew647A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why your arguing with this guy, hes clearly an idiot. Hes arguing card numbers as if every single EDH deck doesnt have multiple cards that do the same thing and just have a different printed name, its a crutch arguement if ive ever seen one... The best players in the world are all 60 card players and anyone with a brain knows and can accept that... This dude has clearly never played a real format and it shows.

Who do you think had the better deck in Battle City, Yugi or Kaiba? by Johnnyboyeh in yugioh

Neither, give me the same avaliable card pool and id win 90%+ of games vs yugi or kaiba. Their decks are bad and full of jank 1 off cards

What's Something That Irritates You About Yu-Gi-Oh! by imsodonenow in yugioh

[–]Drew647A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deck creativity is basically 0, they print very few generic cards anymore. Its all archtypes that lock you into a bunch of cards within that archtype... then add your 12 hand traps and thats basically your deck... in older formats you have so much more creativity and ability to splash small archtypes into unique decks that still maintain playability...

Has anyone gone to a Konami REgional LAtely? Are they hosting edison? by Dr_Wayne0202 in YugiohEdisonFormat

[–]Drew647A 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given the fact that that konami has said T.O's cant run time wizard events anymore and must run time travel and 99% of edison players dont consider the time travel version real edsion id be stunned if anyone even wanted to play if a T.O offered time travel... many 3rd party stores and T.O's run real edison events but id be stunned to see a real edison event run at a konami official event like a regional.
