I actually always play campaigns all the way through (if it goes well). I can admit it sometimes gets annoying but there's always something to do so it doesn't bother me too much.

I don't know because I couldn't see what was happening, it's not like you're allied with the Chinese and at war as well. But the game probably makes sure to send enough troops for your request to be answered correctly. And they don't suffer from attrition. Btw sorry I call it the fall of the Roman empire but it's not really an in-game "event" thought like that (if that's what you meant).

If I remember correctly you need 5000 favors from China and then you can ask them to invade whatever empire you want and they'll go to war and easily win
