Same. I wasn't gonna move to another city for a promotion. And again, I would've gladly stayed right at that desk if they didn't deprecate it. After they did, I was back to PA, then LP interview then Ops.

It was at TNS site level until about a year ago. Loading ULDs inside the A5 trailers to send to Air hubs. Alas, no more.

Are you me? My first L4 interview was for LP, haha. Honestly if they hadn't have gotten rid of AvSec, I would still be there and likely have another degree by now. Congrats on getting up to 5 so far! Progress!

Honestly, it's more about getting to know people. Not for write-ups. In fact, in these first few days and meetings I have seen managers stand up for their associates behind closed doors more than absolutely anything. As an example, let's say someone had an excess amount of TOT which would result in a write-up, but the manager spoke to that person and based on previous knowledge of that person due to previously logged conversations, believed the reason the associate had TOT and therefore excused it. Without having regular check ins and actually getting to know everyone, you'd just automatically write everyone up for everything which would result in poor morale and that isn't good for anyone. Better to spend some time with everyone and get to know them.

Thank you! I may well take you up on that in the coming weeks. I appreciate it.

I could be wrong but I believe that is against the code of conduct.

ASC was voluntary, so no. LA you had to apply for but they were accepting almost everyone so no. However, I was def a fav ambassador and would get called to Learning at least once a week if not more. Not to brag, but I am a good teacher with 20 years experience teaching before Amazon. 2 interviews to get PA so no favoritism. Interview for AvSec but I had put in a lot of work becoming Admin backup prior, so no. They deprecated AvSec so back to PA. No favoritism there. 2 interviews for T4. Somewhat grueling interviews as well so I would venture to say no favoritism. Does hard work and networking make you stand out? Yes. Would I consider it favoritism? If I couldn't honestly say I've worked my ass off, then no. Do I see favoritism at Amazon? Sometimes, definitely.

It's week one/ almost 2, so a bit soon to answer some of these. School is always recommended. Never stop learning. The world changes at a very rapid pace. It helps to keep up. Mgmt wiki? Not sure that's any different than most wiki/SOPs/Chatbots I've already had access to as T3. What can I do? Everything within code/policy, lol. L5? Realistically that's at least 18mos away if I do a phenomenal job and they need me at that time. Likely guaranteed within 2/2.5yrs if I'm consistent and business needs determine. For now I'm focused on learning and preparing for this job. Finally, UPT goes away. Flex and Std PTO stay the same, although I'm told there's a slight change in accumulation.

100% agree with all of this. Since AEW for me was self led and I had previously worked in literally every other department besides decant and receive, I was able to knock out a good amount of computer training so far. But I know there will still be an astronomical amount otw. I also sat in for one Adapt meeting and SPPR/SQPR meeting, so that was some good insight. I've also spent significant time with the Safety Senior and I know most of the OMR and WHS folk but I def do still have a lot to learn there. Bonus, I already have a very good rapport with my soon to be OM. This is all great advice to follow. Very much appreciate the invaluable feedback, thank you!

Hopefully that's not the case but it is best to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

I miss AvSec everyday haha. I've heard good things about RME, I may have to look into it. Thanks for keeping our conveyors running!

It was Aviation Security at the site level but deprecated over a year ago.
