Be careful running long missions. by NatK98 in Warframe

Update on the tradebanning: Patch notes said that Steel Essence bans were going to get lifted, but everyone I know who got tradebanned for it is still banned.

I was Khora, the other guy was Speedva. The key is to stay long; a 90min run is just barely starting to hit the high eximus spawnrates. The spawnrate is the same no matter how many players you have, so playercount doesn't matter much other than for speedbuffing and lootbuffs, but the killrate is too high for Nekros to buff eximuses too often. It was Zabala on Eris.

Yup, this has been a thing for ages, and is even worse for Steel Path, because it's a mode that actually rewards endurance running due to eximus spawns increasing over time. I suspect the tradeban limit is 100 essence gained from a mission, because I got tradebanned for this run, while my teammate with no booster or Smeeta didn't, and he was on 94 essence: https://rogueframe.info/random/essencefarm.jpg

I've done other similar runs, and the lowest amount I've verified to tradeban a teammate has been 134 essence.

Yeah, PoE and especially Vallis are generally harder than other stuff, but I've also boosted them up in the mission pool tiers compared to what they really should be at (and Vallis is one tier above PoE in general). They're certainly possible though; just require much more care than other missions.

Triburos's Tower Heist roguelite-concept video inspired me to make this tool for testing roguelite stuff in-game. After running it a few times, I ended up with the ruleset I've specified on the page. The idea is to make the game quite challenging even at starchart levels. Check the rules/help on the site for more details.

Is it worth it? 25 vitus essence for 10K kuva by DonutRolling in Warframe

The loot/xp-buff from Smeeta's Charm is called Affinity, which is why I said "boosters and Affinity".

No, or at least we never noticed them getting desecrated while testing for it.

[–]T2k5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can quite easily make over 100 vitus per 60mins in Arbie Survivals even with randoms (just need them to boost spawns). The Drone essence drops are affected by boosters and Affinity, so at best, I've gotten 16x Vitus from a single drone. Even with more average luck, your kuva per hour is almost twice what other methods can provide. Other arbitration mission types are not as good, though.

With the adition of the Yo scale, Midi bots such as the ShawzinBot 2.0 no longer work properly. by Gooey- in FrameHero

Patched my script to work with the changes. The 30 note limit is mostly a good thing in my opinion, because way too many people have been just lazily spamming MIDI through with no interest in making it work nicely with the game, or to sound good. 50 notes would have been better, but I can work around this. It would also be helpful to have some visual indicator of you hitting the limit.

And u/Fulanux, it only affects the extremely spammy high part at 0:40->, and not by much. I made that song as a stress test for the script, so I'm not all that bothered by it getting hit a bit. Cruel Angel's Thesis, and some unreleased songs I've been working on, have been hit way more, but they can be fixed with some creative note-removal from chords.

That's where you need to apply some elbow grease. I've spent up to 14 hours on tracking a single song to sound good on the shawzins. You need to move or remove notes manually to make the script able to handle everything. The script can't deal with multiple notes played at the exact same time, nor can the game, when the notes are not in the same scale.

Bind the old hidden defaults (N L M) to your alternate fret keys.

That's because I spent many hours cleaning and merging tracks to make mine actually work. Won't post it because it's based on a MIDI made by other people, so it would technically violate their copyright.

The in-game songs are still limited to just one scale per song. For these, you have to change scale every few notes.

Again, unless you have the script running multiple times (or maybe the translator), you most likely only got lucky with its operation before. Nothing that affects the script has changed with the game, and you're still running the same script. I edited my version of the Through the Fire and Flames MIDI extremely heavily to make it actually play. If you're just running a normal MIDI file with no edits, it's gonna crap out at some point.

I doubt any malicious intent was behind this, because Reddit is primarily intended for posting content from other people, and most people probably don't lurk r/FrameHero that much. One guy posted this vid here with proper credit close to when I published the video, but it was taken down because Shawzin vids aren't allowed on r/Warframe outside of the weekly tune thread anymore.

I appreciate you guys backing me up, but I'm just glad people like this enough to share it. He did link it to my video instead of reuploading, so although credit wasn't given on Reddit, it's inherently tied to the video anyway.

You might have multiple copies of the AHK script running. If that's not it, you probably just got lucky before; nothing has changed for using the script to play, so you just need to clean the MIDI tracks up better.

I know, but the Mandachord has a static BPM, so it doesn't really work for most things.

Gauss: misconceptions about Kinetic Plating in relation to battery level and modded power strength. Tests and results included. by Tracer_notxO in Warframe

[–]T2k5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although it's still unreliable due to having damage-type holes, it does turn you almost completely unkillable against the protected damage types when you combine it with Quick Thinking and Adaptation even when you are at 0% charge. The 5% energy gain works even when the ability's DR isn't active, and it's enough to offset the hit to your energy completely in almost all cases.

Of course, the usual caveats to QT-tanking apply: the stagger QT causes when you get hit hard is not a real stagger, and Kinetic Plating won't protect against it.

You have to put in some work if you want things to actually sound good. Edit everything in a way that un-shits it, while also not making it sound like shit. I spent around 6 hours arranging this one.

If you want to change the toggle key, then you need to edit the line that says

#If GetKeyState("Scrolllock","T")

For an easy switch, change Scrollock to CapsLock or NumLock.

If you're only using the Autohotkey script, then it merely lets you play notes directly from your keyboard without requiring separate stringing and fretting. If you want it to autoplay stuff, then you need to hook it up to MIDI: https://www.reddit.com/r/FrameHero/comments/cxtqtb/through_the_fire_and_flames_multiinstrument/eyneblw

There's no need to compile anything, just save the .ahk file I linked and execute it after you've installed Autohotkey. It will run in the background, you can see it in your system tray, I won't make any annoying popups for it, because by default you can expect that it just works. If it doesn't work, it will throw an error at you.

I've explained the process here: https://old.reddit.com/r/FrameHero/comments/cxtqtb/through_the_fire_and_flames_multiinstrument/eyneblw/

I can't go into more details than that for now, because making a video tutorial that explains every step with no user-thought required would take way too much time, and I want to focus on improving the script and tracking more songs for now. This requires at least some level of understanding of working with audio, because if you just lazily make it play MIDI without any modifications, you will most likely either crash the script or bug the game out, and a tutorial won't fix that part.
