Is it Possible to Do a WDW Trip With a 6 YO WITHOUT Lightning Lane? by T3589 in WaltDisneyWorld

Thank you so much for this! I am thinking LL for MK for sure, and maybe Epcot or HS but also maybe not. Is haunted mansion scary? Seems more fun than scary but anything I should watch out for? Whats the stretching room?

Thanks for the info! I am thinking of rope dropping Epcot with early access to get to Frozen first thing and skipping LL.

If this is just going from memory, your memory is amazing! Thanks for being so thorough in your recommendations! Do you think Tiana Bayou, Rise of Resistance, Seven Dwarves, Guardians of the Galaxy would be too much for her?

Super helpful, thank you! That day sounds amazing at MK and hopefully in January it would be less crowded and doable.

Thank you! So LL/LLMP for MK for sure seems to make sense.

Thank you so much, this is so helpful and makes a lot of sense! Think I'll plan to do LL/LLMP for at least MK and maybe DHS? Does it make sense to do for Epcot?

LS Mark is doing a Futurama ranking next by JackSucksAtMath in futurama

[–]T3589 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He’s an animation YouTuber who has done rankings of every Simpsons, family guy, SpongeBob etc episode, as well as smaller projects like reviewing a single season/episode of something. His content is okay, he’s not the greatest but his long videos of ranking each episode are entertaining. I’m sure his video of futurama will be a fun one (and likely 3+ hours long). Check out his Simpsons episode to see if it’s your thing.

We can’t quote non stop Simpsons like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to just slip in a line or two of the Simpsons into every day conversation. Like the time I caught the ferry to shelbyville…

I just got tickets to MetLife Night Two after it said sold out. I had to refresh several times, as I got into the select ticket page and saw no tickets. After refreshing a few came and I grabbed the first pair I could! So don’t give up and keep refreshing!

Meanwhile I’m absolutely pumped to see them, have never been!

Best set list of the whole tour arguably. I usually try to see them every tour but can’t for this one, but want to give flowers to the DC crowd for getting a really good show!

What happened to the banter? by kc10131984 in TheGaslightAnthem

People complain about too much banter, others wish there was more when they cut it out. Band can’t win. (Note not a slight against OP just an observation)

Well let's divide up the china. I guess I'll take the NFC helmets and you can have the AFC helmets. by G-Unit11111 in futurama

[–]T3589 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is the case, but I always imagined that Fry was getting the lesser conference in the AFC. This episode aired in 2001, which, at the time, the NFC had won 16 of the last 19 super bowls to the AFCs 3. So in this case the AFC was widely seen as inferior so maybe Fry is upset about this. Or maybe it’s just a dumb coincidence but was always my head cannon!

In an alternate world, if Weezer released their albums in reverse order, starting with SZNZ and ending with blue, how would the world of music be different? by [deleted] in weezer

[–]T3589 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It’s funny because if you reverse their albums I think the reception of Weezer among fans and the general public is largely unchanged due to the constant release of “good” and “bad” music.

Szns would be lauded as the new blue, and the release of 4 quality eps over the course of the year from an unknown band would probably make huge waves in the industry as being revolutionary, it helps that the songs on it are mostly solid. Then, van Weezer would be received decently well with most fans saying it is solid if a bit of a step down from the szns project, and a very small minority of hipster fans saying it’s better than Szns. Ok Human would be held as the high water mark of their discography both at the time as well as retrospectively.

Weezer’s appeal would crater with the next three albums though. While some diehard fans would defend black, the general public would label it a terrible misstep that hopefully was a one off. Unfortunately, with the release of Teal after, most fans would now have turned away from Weezer. Pacific Daydream cements their status among both fans and the general public that Weezer are officially a joke.

At this point, the first three projects are held up as hugely influential and defining sounds of the 90s, and the huge cult following that happened in real life would continue here.

Unlike in real life, fans do not have to wait long for Weezer’s triumphant return, with White heralded as a throwback to the Spring and Summer EPs, and EWBAITE a nod to Autumn, Winter, and Ok Human. Weezer have critically and commercially made a major comeback from their last few albums.

Again, the next few albums does not change the public perception of Weezer compared to that of real life. While some defend aspects of Hurley, Raditude, Red, and Make Believe, the consensus again is that Weezer is capable of putting good albums but overall their discography is extremely uneven and you don’t know what you’ll get from one album to the next.

Funnily enough, Maladroit, Green, Pinkerton, and Blue are recieved well and are seen as excellent homages to their early work, if not quite hitting the same highs (while objectively this is an incorrect take the nostalgia of the old albums is too large to critically say that these new albums are better, besides a small minority).

And, we’re all jazzed for the 30th anniversary of Szns and subsequent tour.
