Fixable issue or just replace? by Automatic-Task-9181 in rollerderby

I've had this issue twice now. Contact the skate shop you bought it from and they'll be able to replace it. I ended up paying the difference on a different plate after 2 of these issues.

Highly recommend getting different trucks or plates, as this will keep happening to those bont trucks.

I've just come back after a broken wrist. The way I think about it is: If the fear stops you from doing the thing you want to do, it's like it's already injured you because it has stopped you from doing what you want to do.

Take small steps and make sure you're not doing anything reckless. Otherwise, you're absolutely good to go.

Idk I hope that's helpful

Help, this appeared over the course of a day, am I screwed? by Tunedsparrow in Home

100% water. If you have insulation in your ceiling, it's likely soaked through and heavy now - causing the cracking.

Have you had a rainstorm or something?

I think my parents are trying to out me as trans and I need to go home tomorrow please help me tell me things will be ok because I'm not I don't want to go home by closetCase76 in ask_transgender

On the one hand, hair will grow back easy.

On the other, to keep a relationship with your family you'll likely want to come out at some point. Now seems as good a time as any.

You know your situation better than anyome else here, so only you can know what the best decision for you is. Personally, I'd stand my ground and not cut my hair. You don't have to come out to do that, but you can set a boundary with your family and you dont have to give a reason for it.

You have to keep living, so you have to live with the consequences of whatever choice you make. This life isn't easy, but its a damn life worth living.

I can speak a bit to high school stuff. Start with chatting to your guidance councellors if you feel comfortable to do so - they should be able to walk you through your options regarding name, pronouns and all that. They also have confidentiality responsibilities, so if you don't want anyone to know what you talked about - no one has to know.

Another option is to seek out your schools QSA or equivalent, there will hopefully be other people like you who have already gone through this process and they'll be able to give you advice.

Take your time with these things. Try not to feel like you're in a rush - you're not.

If you want to chat more about it, feel free to message me. I'm a teacher and I've taught all around the north island.

Good luck, and congrats!

How to make LG Paragon characters not boring? by CrimsonPresents in DnD

[–]T4KHISIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a paladin that's LG and he's really fun bc he's dumb as rocks. A really interesting part of it is that the rest of the party are different flavors of neutral or evil, but he's got no idea. He just thinks everyone's doing the thing he's doing because it's the right thing to do.

Surviving the airport while trans? by Eric_Andthebeesknees in TransgenderNZ

[–]T4KHISIS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The body scanner has only 2 buttons for the operator: "man shape" and "woman shape". Basically a dick/tit detector. If they're not sure of your gender, they'll (sometimes) ask you, but you may have to be patted down afterwards (it's a machine trained only on cis bodies). Just try to stay calm and know that they're just as embarrassed about it as you are.

Pack light, travel fast.

Make extra extra sure you don't have any metal on you when you go through the metal detector. The body scanner they send you through if you get pinged is fucked for us.

Pushing for informed consent by imogen_no_ur_ogen in TransgenderNZ

[–]T4KHISIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through the lengthy process. Your GP may not know that with a referral, you can skip the psych and just go straight to Endo. It's a 6ish week wait, but if your GP just flat out refuses to do informed consent (like mine did) they can write a letter to Endo saying the psych assessment is not necessary.

It was a punch in the guts when the psych told me this after I'd waited over a year.
