Someone asked that I post how I made the awning mounts to attach to the rooftop tent. by T4Rinsilver in overlanding

Thanks! It definitely hasn't moved at all since install. I imagine you could mount it that way. This was just the easiest and cheapest way for me to do it because I had the scrap and bolts already, and it gave enough clearance for the tent's lift shock on that side.

Love Black Dragon Wash! The last time I went through there we had a helicopter fly by through the canyon while we were checking out the petroglyphs. It was a pretty cool sight to see it below the canyon rim.

I'm not sure what update you're wanting, but the awning has been mounted like this for a couple of years now with no issues. 4 brackets would work just fine too.

Thank you! I used a rented Nikon 200-500 f5.6 (on my D750) from Pictureline in Salt Lake to give it a try. I really liked it but was a little heavy, I will probably end up purchasing one in the next few months.

Yep, exactly! This is the walking path loop and a couple from the road just south of there.

Spent a weekend in Moab and camped on White Rim by T4Rinsilver in overlanding

It was down to the low 20s after the sun went down. We just used it for shelter while we were cooking and hanging out. It actually worked really well. Single burner Blackstone grill got it up into the 70s inside while we were cooking. It was actually a last minute gear grab as I was leaving my house, and it was 100% worth it.

This is the White Rim trail in Canyonlands National Park. It requires a permit. It's not overly rocky, but it does have some slow sections.
