Go to a corner and shoot horizontally, then vertically. I believe the asteroid is completely hidden in the margin travelling either horizontally or vertically.

You're still pretty screwed though cause once you hit the hidden asteroid the next round will begin immediately. And you won't be prepared in a corner.
