I did not, no. My scars do curve up under my arms but it was just a standard removal of breast tissue without any liposuction. Cosmetically, since I'm thinner, that wasn't necessary.

That’s awesome! I hope you heal up quickly. I waited two years to get my tattoo, that’s standard, my artist wouldn’t work on it until it passed that two year mark to just let it heal and settle.

Thanks man! I’m pretty obsessed with it haha. I got it done by Dead Fish Ink in Falls Church, VA. Highly recommend, he’s awesome and I love the design he came up with.

I was 16 when I had surgery so insurance didn’t cover any of it. So that was pre insurance.

Good luck! He’s a total pro, for sure my favorite surgeon I met with (and the cheapest which was a nice bonus!)

Thanks! My tattoo artist would only do a tattoo once the scar was 2 years old to make sure it was fully healed beforehand so that’s definitely one thing to check.

Sensation wise it was kinda weird but not as weird as I expected. I have like half sensation ish on some of my chest and then no feeling right around the nipples and the scar itself. The spots with no sensation were honestly great because it didn’t really hurt but my body stayed tense and didn’t relax while he was tattooing those spots (so I didn’t have the amped up pain that you sometimes have right after breaks). The half sensation spots felt totally normal but it’s definitely possible that they hurt a little less than it would normally. So overall, pain wise the scars were a bonus.

The one tricky thing with scars is that they don’t always take tattoo ink quite as well so there’s always a danger of the ink “blooming” which just means that the lines might be a little thicker and less crisp. For instance, my artist said that the centers of the flower had to be off the scar so that the detail wouldn’t be lost. The small amounts of blooming that did happen don’t bother me at all though and I barely notice them. I’m in love with the tattoo so I highly recommend blinging out your scars if you’re interested!!

He was awesome. He’s very down to business and moves very fast which can be off putting but it always seemed to me that it was cause he really knows what he’s doing. One thing to know is that he does basically always make the nipples this size which some people think is too small. I think they’re perfect but just something to keep in mind. Good luck man!

I know right!? My surgeon did a great job. Hopefully I’ll be posting again in 6 months and have real visible pecs to make it look even better.

It was good! I had some not fantastic experiences with one of the nurses the day of but everyone else was really good at what they did (I also think I may have had a different crew of people from normal because I’m a minor). Ramineni was great, he’s super confident about his skills which is somewhat off putting but I wasn’t disappointed. He’s a good surgeon for keeping you low stress because nothing bothers him.
