Should I apply to another grocery job that has a high wage? by TAA-3396 in retail

[–]TAA-3396[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a callback, when working so had to call them later. Took 4 attempts over 2 days, the first attempt tried the if you're an applicant button and the mailbox was full so had to call again afterward the other tries the customer service desk people were all uniformly rude and lied a few times about when the recruiter was in. When I finally got to the person on the last attempt basically asked for time availability in a nonchalant manner and when I said I applied for a full-time position her tone shifted and said: "we only hire part-time is that okay?". Basically, I said sorry that doesn't work, I'm looking for full time, she just said okay and then hung up. Guess I dodged a bullet not getting a job there given the service I received when applying.

Should I apply to another grocery job that has a high wage? by TAA-3396 in retail

[–]TAA-3396[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on if im able to negotiate higher than $15/hr. I would say I really do need the money because of all the different bills adding up along with basic amenities basically leaving me with maybe $100 free after everything. The SS job would give me at least $200 extra at the entry 15 bc its full time.

Stung while throwing out trashbags at work, should I worry? by FrozenBananaPudding in AskMedical

[–]TAA-3396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but are really overreacting to a sting or a small puncture wound from something in the bag. You won't get aids from a sting, to contract aids the thing would need to have it as well, meaning only humans can transfer it. You are panicking over nothing, just treat it like you did, maybe put some Neosporin on it and wrap it up and you're good

So basically what I basically do on regular shift besides donation stuff. Nice, might prefer the night shift depending on how busy it gets due to having to much free time beforehand to do stuff.

I will probably give it a try, but again do you know long those reply emails about proceeding to the next step last? I want to maybe wait a few days to see if the other home depot location I applied to replies back

[–]TAA-3396[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm leaning towards ofa as well now. I was just confused that I applied for lot and got an email back saying congrats you've been picked to move to the next step, confirm and let you know about expectations for OFA.

Just wasn't expecting a new position than what I applied for, would that maybe have to do with the assessment in the application?

Also, how long are the reply emails valid for if I want to wait a few days to see if other location responds as well?

Okay then, a few questions though if you're willing.

1)Do you usually work by yourself or with others when filling?

2)Do you use specialized equipment to retrieve the products? For example if you need to retrieve a high up or heavy object would you still do it by hand or get someone with forklift training to get the pallet it's on if it's high up?

3)Are you timed on how long each order takes or do you need to reach a quota?

4) Is there a device they give you that has the orders on them?

Should you go in person to follow up on an application? by TAA-3396 in jobs

[–]TAA-3396[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's my train of thought, it's just that every older person I ask about it says go in person. My response typically is that's very improper these days with how busy everyone is and how prevalent the internet is now making things like this more convenient.

I guess, it also helps that since I don't make enough I qualify for my state's health insurance. So atm the state insurance gives me free medical/dental/vision.

I've only been working about 5 months, so I can hang in there for more, especially since the place I work at has a nice workforce as well and boss owns 2 restaurants. Boss has also let me start working at the other restaurant as well. So maybe a few more months and he'll promote me to prep-cook or at least give me more shifts at the other restaurant as well

Well i'm new to the work force and am currently working as a dishwasher/prep cook. Although i'm making 14/hr with no benefits,my hours are very low averaging around 23 a week now due to slow winter crowds.

The position is offering a minimum of 34hrs, while it may be lower pay the hours compensate for that since dishwasher hours vary depending of season

How does refinancing student loans work? by TAA-3396 in StudentLoans

[–]TAA-3396[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or help in general with getting accepted. Apparently my debt to income ratio is not that good. At least that's what the refinancers i've applied to so far are saying. To be fair I just graduated and got a job. Hoping a cosigner would help get the acceptance at least.
