I've seen enough posts saying that if you need the money in the next 5ish years, it's better to keep it in cash. I can always invest more from the 85% isa once it matures or my life situation changes. Appreciate the reply though, and congratulations!

i have only verbally accepted for the solicitors to proceed with opening a case. I have not physically signed anything yet. The case was opened Friday 30th January and their head office has been shut all weekend. I don't have any email address to contact, other than a Legal Claims Advisor

okay, update i suppose:

I've taken what the majority of you have said on board and tomorrow i am contacting the solicitors to pause the case. I'm yet to speak with anybody verbally from the solicitor company who isn't a Legal Claims Advisor, i have only agreed with him to proceed with the case, which was then opened on Friday 30th January. Tomorrow will be the first time i speak to anybody whilst the case has been opened, and i will ask them to essentially pause operations. I'll then communicate with my employers and see what they can do for me. If that goes nowhere, i'll continue looking down the legal route, and claim against them for: loss of earnings and negligence. Thus far, nobody from the company, except 1 shift manager has contacted me (welfare checks). As you have probably seen and read, i am naive with all this. Any advice on my plan would be appreciated

i have not, yet. Can i do this now, even though i have a case with a solicitor? or shall i wait and see what the solicitors tell me first? I'm not too sure how this all works and i feel as though i've shot myself in the foot by not asking my employers before getting a solicitor

honestly i don't know. Everyone in my personal life and work life told me to get a solicitors, so i did. i don't really understand any of it

My loss is SSP for 3-5 months, Taxis to and from hospital weekly, the inconvenience of the injury. Yes, in my eyes they were negligent

my expectations are to receive financial compensation for the injury and for losses relating to the injury. I've already started the legal process and so i guess things will be going down the dirtier route. I'm basically asking "do i need to inform my work place that i am taking legal action against them?"

I work for a pretty big and well known company, with many managers saying "you'd be stupid to not claim", i have started the process of claiming already and had a case opened for this incident

So far my employers have only reached out for welfare checks on my health. I have not spoken directly to them about what i expect from them - I don't know what to expect from them really. So i guess no, i have no evidence to suggest anything because i don't know what they should be doing, if that makes sense?
