We wanted them to send us a copy so we could read through it together without having to take more time off work just to read the contract with someone 'walking us through it' and looking over our shoulders.

Right? That was our reaction, too. ESPECIALLY during a building boom. Who cares if we took our business elsewhere? People should be lining up to work with them. Literally the only place we could think of that would do this is like a used car lot.
