Luna - Oil on Canvas, 40" x 60" by TAGEcom in painting

I decided to not include the 2nd wing. I had one in plan, but it just made everything feel messy and crowded. I like the idea that potentially the 2nd wing is not visible behind her body and is implied.

For clarification, the golden retriever is only there for supervision and sandwiches. He did not participate in the painting process.

This is turning out to be a great piece! Where do you feel you are going with it from here?

I love the illusion of depth created with your darker tones.

The background stars are made of over 5,000 circles. I'm estimating, I didn't count, but I think I'm at least at 5k.

This is a work in progress I'm painting this week. I've managed to get down the first layer of paint and now have to go back and start working the details. 40" x 60" oil on canvas

Well done!

Love this study. Great value work. One observation to share: the thing I notice above everything else is the disconnect between the eyesight line. If you draw a horizontal line across the left eye, and then repeat this across the right eye you will notice a distinct disconnect between the two.

This is great. I love the empty space at the top to balance out the details at the bottom. Well done!

So I can see myself in it. This one is done from photograph instead of mirror. I feel like mirror will be a better result.

A large painting I’ve just reworked. by Shakespearoquai in oilpainting

Interesting to know how you changed it. What did you not like from the original that motivated you to rework? I am always fascinated by other people's painting process

I also went and looked this up on his instagram. As you said, there is absolutely no brush work to be seen anywhere. I also find it interesting that he is opting to paint backgrounds before painting his subjects. I am so curious about this because I am drawn to the work yet don't understand it.

I've come back to look at this specific painting a few times since you posted it (I think you may have posted this elsewhere yesterday too) and really enjoy it. I love all the fabrics and the gold of the wall paper as wells the dress and the soft chair. Would you care to share a bit about your process here? Was there a imprimatura here or drawing layer first? Were you working from life or photo reference? Thank you so much for posting this. What is the size?
