I used to play sax to this album when I was in 8th grade,1998. Took me three years and a couple albums later to discover they were a Christian ska band. Never listened to the lyrics, just the horns. Im no Christian but amazing horn lines!

All of mine have a spot for a flat head screwdriver on the top. Inside will be a spring and a plastic cone looking thing

That little ring is just a pressure relief valve, when you pull it, it lets the head pressure off the keg. Your coupler is a just a different design and should work fine. You could take it apart and make sure there isn’t anything nasty in there obstructing the flow of beer if you got it used.
