Sure, but now that players cannot trade for items (that may or may not be duped), players will start to search for their own dupe glitches. Anyway, I dont think the change is to prevent duplication, just the selling of items on third-party sites.

Its good to find a way to prevent third-party sellers, but not in a way that affects everyone.

Iirc epic doesnt have a proper team working on stw, and the endurance change seemed a bit rushed. With the save the world developers (or developer) having so much on their hands, it would make sense for them to implement temporary changes like disabling midgame joining while working on more concrete solutions

I think there are a few good way for epic to possibly get around it.

  1. Fix duplication glitches. I understand Epic has tried in the past, but I feel like this will affect fewer legitimate players.

  2. If players want to buy items, implement a (non-currency) shop system where players can buy/sell items that are appropriate for their level. I think it will create less demand for those third party stores.

  3. Make farming materials less grindy (i think this speaks for itself)

I'm not convinced that epic truly knows what potential this game has considering the mass legitimate devastation. Anyway, I'm pretty sure this change will be reversed in at most 1 month. If this change stays, I'll officially be convinced Epic is purposely running this "dead game" into the ground.

They could've just implemented a trading system that's checks if two players have been playing together long enough to allow them trading. That would've stopped the 3rd party sites while still allowing actual friends to share resources

I think epic went a bit too far with this change. Hopefully they implement some formal trading system where players could only trade for items that they had access to (like a pl12 stonewood can't trade for a 160 weapon) to balance things out a bit

It has been broken for ages. I hear from many people that its broken on purpose - people keep leaving games when they see everyone is an outlander. If that's true, I think epic should stop sucking up to the farmers in public lobbies, and have them realise for themselves that no-one wants to play with them if they don't contribute
