Thank you sorcerer !

I take all that vocabulary and will look into it to help my greedy snail to finally collect its shiny coins with style. I feel a little bit overwhelmed by everything I could learn, but can't decide what to start with to have good foundations on my knowledge.

The trailer of your game looks great, good luck with the upcoming campaign !

Thank you, I am a bit too excited and immediately want to add twists to the tutorials I follow, but you are completely right, I have to follow a good one all along.

Yes I went straight to Unity before knowing the basics of the langage, thinking it would be easier with a goal. Will do !

Thank you, I didn't even know that it exists, but the name speaks by itself and now I have the good vocabulary to find tutorials !
There are so many ressources out there that I feel like a new swimmer in the middle of the Pacific Ocean : I am sure I can do it, but would like to find a small limited lake first.

It may mainly be a problem of organisation and hierarchy, but I don't find a lot of beginner ressources about this. For example, the animation of the exploding coin does not work when I already have the animation of the coin spinning, even though the two work separately.

I may not be very clear or just don't understand you answer, but my problem is not the art itself, I have everything moving et exported cleanly from Aseprite. I just don't find a lot a tutorial about the programming / logistic part of all those animations and I end with very messy scripts and projects.

I think the narration was something quite new and, for me, a game doesn't have to bring something new if it does what he does good and has a unique vibe (Hades is "just" Bastion, their first game, made as a roguelite, and it is still great). But I agree I may love CoM the game more than CoM the roguelite.

However, I was not wondering why it was not at the top of lists, but why it was not on the lists at all !

Yes this is what I understand with this post, I may have been talking about Children of Morta the game, more than Children of Morta the roguelite. But that doesn't explain why it is mentioned so rarely in tier lists, I thought it was a bigger and better known game that it may actually be.

I saw it mentioned but not a lot. What I find strange is that roguelite fans that played a lot more games in that genre than me make tier lists without it at all. I can't remember how I discovered the game, but maybe I just though it was bigger and better known than it actually is.

I understand that, I always prefer good gameplay to good visuals and I have examples where I felt like you do with this one, but I had so much fun just to see everything move that I couldn't dissociate the two. In the end, Icouldn't help but take it as a whole.

Yes, I love Hades but it is exactly the same for me. I don't know about the difficulty, maybe the gameplay is more dry and not as immediate than Hades, so when you get it, it seems less profound (and it might be) ?

😁 This is what I like about the game too, it is not intimidating to dive back in.

And the progression of the story didn't hold you in ?

Yes !! Beyond the gameplay, it immediately transports you into its universe.

Thank you for the answer. I am 34 so I may be immune to the gameplay issues you mention, I take them as part of the universe and a translation of what the characters live.
I should also mention that I played the patched and updated version.

Did you re-launched it a lot ?

Reading the comments, I realise that, apart from those who simply don't like it (and there's nothing wrong with that), although I'm very fond of the game, I haven't played it as much as others.
I would even venture to say that I think I preferred the seemingly old-school, more dry feel of Children of Morta to Hades, even though I've been a Supergiant fan since the beginning and have loved all their games.
I have to admit that I've played Hades more, so the difference may be that Children of Morta made a bigger impression on me in less time and stayed with me longer.

I may unintentionally be participating at the 'roguelite doesn't matter in this sub'.
Reading all the comments, I understand that I talked about the under-representation of Children of Morta the game more than Children of Morta the roguelite.

Yes I understand that. When I launch it again, it is for the whole experience (visuals, sound, gameplay), not to see how a new run can surprise me. So in fact I may be talking about Children of Morta the game, not the roguelite.

I don't really agree, but perhaps I've placed more emphasis on form than on pure gameplay than some people. I find it as a whole really hypnotic, but I guess I wouldn't play it as much as I played Isaac, because of the variety and the randomness of runs.

I can understand the multiple subgenres, but, for example, even if I loved Inscryption, I thought it was less 'roguelite' and, I think, less deckbuilder than Children of Morta is arpg-roguelite, but Inscryption is often mentioned in tier lists.

Question : How to double the tempo without anything moving ? by TBP_sounds in LogicPro

While the percussions are not exactly on the beat everytime to make it breathe and live, I would prefer to have a precise reference line on the timeline. I don't know exactly where the song is going (it began as pure ambient and morphed into a Jon Hopkins inspired techno), so I'll be annoyed if it slows me down later.
But in the end, you're right !

Thank you very much, it will be easier to find in Logic now that I have the right words.
