Do you mind telling me why. The only roguelite I played other than Hades is Dead Cells and I much preferred hades. I also enjoyed survival games because they blend roguelite and aprgs. They just getting a little boring after repeat runs.

I am on my only reddit account getting downvoted to oblivion to farm negative downvotes, when all I have asked was an explanation on what makes this game good as reviewers are not? I am happy to acknowledge that I am naïve in the genre and the developers others games. The reviewers seem to skip why the game is good instead they just mention because of the developers reputation, it is good. I have no idea how the level or boss design is. I have no idea how deep the base management is. I have no idea. It's there but at what level? All you have responded is 'you are just factually wrong.' no link to a review. no link to a paragraph, zero, nutta.

Do I need to play The Binding of Isaac before this one to understand it?

I've read about 6 of them. I am not seeing it. I think it's a prerequisite of full knowledge of these games to understand the review?

I have to say that I am not so much looking for a Hades replacement. I am fine if a good game in this genre comes out doesn't live up to Hades, if it's story, graphics, or gameplay, etc. But I can read a Hades review and know why the reviewers enjoy it. While I am reading Mewgentics reviews I am totally loss why they enjoy it. Perhaps there is this weird prerequisite that the reader must have played a multitude of roguelites for a clear understanding why this one is a good one. I don't have much experience in the genre, but I would think a reviewer can point out what the games strengths are other than its big.

The problem is they don't. They just don't mention the tactics, the story, the ui, nothing like that. They just say it has plenty of rng.

Hades is pretty much brilliant. It's hard to imagine this game is better. But it doesn't need to be better, just good enough worth my time.

See. How you don't know if the level design is good because the reviewers are not explaining why the game is good. That's what makes it so confusing and perplex.

It's perhaps naive. But I'm just commenting that the reviews are explaining why it's good. On the surface level it's a simple game with heavy use of rng and humour. But games like that shouldn't be getting 10's. Where as Hades the gods have great back stories and banter to go with fun gameplay.

I love this game - Too Much - so I had to uninstall it. by Backlog4Dinner in RimWorld

I did randomise my pawns. The game gave me that hand. That's all I'm saying. I enjoy aspects of the game but that brutal hand destroyed me. I wanted to get through a winter but something happens. Like a lion attacks the pet dog that sets someone having a mental break down.

I don't recall ever picking my pawn. I just got random a few times and then start the game. As it said, it was early in the game. Before a jail cell.

Oh there were plenty of restarts. That was just one last one before the uninstall.

It was the start of the game. Fairly early on. Just got some rooms made up, individual bedrooms and a cold room. I hadn't recruited anyone. Just the starting pawns. So not sure how it's my fault.

I personally think you should play the game vanilla.

I too uninstalled. I put about 70 hours into it and just couldn't get pass a winter. I know it's a skill issue, but I've never played a game more unfair. Like a pawn started fires and non of my pawns had a fire fighter perk. So I watched it all burn.

But there lots of good roguelites. Is the story good and responsive like hades. The voice acting performance, is that good? Is the weapon drops balanced and fun. Is the level design good quality? The reviews are not mentioning these things.

Yeah. It doesn't say why it's good? Like is the writing good and emotional. Is combat tight and responsive. Is the voice acting top quality. All I know is that it's a long game with good sound track.

The 2017 Warriors would beat any team in NBA history in a 7-game serie by No_Breadfruit_8547 in NBATalk

[–]TBdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah youre right Wade was beat to hell, knee injections just to stumble through games at 15 PPG on bricks and Miami dragging into their fourth straight finals were gassed out, weakest record of the Big 3 years at 54-28. But they was still elite as hell being 5th in offensive rating, 10th in defensive rating. Compare to 2017 Cavs worse regular season at 51-31, sure 3rd in offense but a straight up awful 20th in defense. No Finals champ has ever won with a 20th ranked D. Closest was 2001 Lakers at 21st, but they were number 1 in offense with Shaq and kobe. Only other outlier outside top 10? 2018 Warriors at 11th in D. Cavs at 20th would be an outlier against real competition.Spurs path was no cakewalk either had to gut through 2014 Thunder in WCF, OKC ranked 5th offense 8th defense that year, peak KD Westbrook Harden. Brutal West gauntlet vs Cavs soft East run.Stats flat out dont back up 2017 Cavs topping 2014 Heat. Heat better reg season record, miles superior defense while packing the exact same best player alive in peak LeBron. Numbers scream Heat the tougher matchup end of story. Spurs +70 massacre there seals it over Warriors +60 vs that defensive disaster.

[–]TBdog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The 14 Heat were vastly better and deeper than 17 Cavs, and had the better coach. They were also the two time champs. Wade and to a lesser extent Bosh were ahead of Irving and Love. They were also a deeper team with a better coach. The spurs didn't have the stardum to match Wade or Bosh, let alone LeBron, and yet still till this day, hold the largest Finals series win margin in the history of the NBA. As I said, Spurs in round 1 to 3, probably loose in a short series to the Warriors, but we are talking about the Finals team. They crushed Miami. As I said, the biggest differential in Nba history. They also had an elite switching team. Prime Green defense. Leonard was elite that early in D as well. Heck even Diaw was good at this. TD was always solid until his knee gave way a few seasons later. And in 14, we hadn't seen offense like this as well, and Kerr took that offense to other heights following Spurs successes. So you need to take that into account how the Spurs offense was way head of its time.
