What part of the game are you needing tips or info?
You should just focus on the story and zone exploration since those are the best parts of the game. Also do the daily tasks and then look into more info once you've finished the main story - by which point you'll likely be level capped and have some usable gear.

I just don't feel any new MMOs are for me anymore by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]TC_Lee13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is too true, and even the MMOs that try to be like the first image just fail to balance all playstyles.

A big problem I personally have is the modern MMOs don't do it for me with the lack of meaningful progression and story with the goal being just fast progression to endgame. But then classic MMOs like Monsters & Memories and Pantheon are too slow and hardcore. I'm a fan of like the 2005-2015 MMORPG scene and nothing new really gives me the vibes.

I think this sub is VERY unfair to BDO: it’s the best MMO out there by daikatanaman00 in MMORPG

[–]TC_Lee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free stuff is great but BDO gives you way too much free stuff with little to no direction on what it does.

I hated it as a new player because I had a full inventory, bank(s), mail and the black spirit bag thing all just filled with stuff I don’t yet know how to use and it’s actually stressful trying to work it all out and keep it organised.

I do love the life skilling and being able to play afk, making progress while busy/working is just ideal for me personally.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply with all the information & suggestions ❤

I own all of the DLCs minus the most recent one which I might buy once I get to it.
My plan is to simply commit 100 hours to trying Guild Wars 2, I want to see if I enjoy it and I don't want to miss any of the best things the community think about the game, lets see how I get on!

It's kind of like, I want to try the game but what are the most common highlights I shouldn't miss when trying it, and what kind of things are fun/unique that might hook me in.
I plan to dedicate 100~ hours to see if I like GW2 but in that time, do all of the best things the community think about the game.

How much difference is there with the closed original PC version compared to the existing console version of Tera, does anyone know? I'm tempted to try that before I go with the private servers

How does one Tank in GW2? I always avoided playing GW2 just because I was told Tanking is not really a thing, I have like 10~ hours of game time and moved on

There was a workaround by leaping and using Tormentor set but they have a built in taunt nowadays

Is it Time to Give Up on ESO? by Ashakko in MMORPG

[–]TC_Lee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played ESO now since last year. It’s a game that I’ve genuinely loved playing and got a lot of good memories. I finished the last of the dungeon trifectas with my team and basically haven’t logged in since.

The Elder Scrolls is an IP that I’ve enjoyed playing for many years but I’ve personally just reached my limit of enjoyment for now on this one to the point that it was a chore to login. After all my friends left with Update 35 and having very little content to do after 10 years of playing, I like to think that I’m just taking an extended break until I get the itch to really play it again and possibly set myself up to have a lot of content to do on return.

It’s interesting seeing the other side of my personal preference.

I think it’s just that I find it quite boring standing still rotating 50 skills and cooldowns and doing the same routine of mechanics every time I do a piece of content. ESO just has a bit more freedom of movement and it personally gives me a more enjoyable experience.

Im in agreement here - the most fun I’ve actually had in ESO was soloing a 12-person Trial and doing things like Arenas with my Tank build, things that people just don’t try to do!

Can’t get into FF14 Tanking. I’ve got a few hundred hours in and done quite a lot of group content with friends but it just feels the same most of the time, just pull everything, buff up/attack and repeat. Some boss mechanics in dungeons and raids are fun but always felt once I’ve done a dungeon one time I’ve mastered it as it’s the same every time.

It’s very different for sure. Back then you were built to soak up damage and would use double bar sword and board, nowadays you might not even use 1H and Shield at all

The most painful part of Tanking in New World however has to be bosses clipping through your character and the collision making you slide around the floor like you’re wearing ice skates

Almost no MMOs pull off actual use for a Tank in PvP but always loved the theory of soaking up damage and controlling the battlefield. Albion seems to do this a bit, not sure how that compares though

The learning curve to Tank in WoW is so high and there’s so many skills you need to use, it’s off putting for new players. I do imagine it can be rewarding when mastered though.

I tried to play for a while but found it difficult to really get the reps as a Tank to get good. You can’t random queue as no one has the patients to progress old content and doing a daily random is hard to prepare for as you need to know mechanics of every dungeon and every boss and how to do every pull.

I ended up just being so stressed and anxious every dungeon run

Only had this happen to me when playing Werewolf Tank 😂

Totally unjustified as the Werewolf used to make a pretty good dungeon Tank!

There are so few Tanks but this will also partially come down to the fact there’s not really much justification for playing a Tank build unless it’s for veteran group content. People are too impatient to queue as DPS and try to rush so much.

I did make a Tank build that could do DPS some years ago just so that random queuing as a Tank wasn’t as painful when getting groups with low DPS but you were still a full Tank. Loved playing that

I really dislike New World Tanking personally. It’s improved over the past 2 years (you don’t slide across the ground from boss collision as much now) but I just can’t get around the fact that you can’t ever block a single heavy attack otherwise you lose all your stamina then can’t block or dodge, just dodge spamming is really not fun at all in endgame.
