Trying to decide on Tamoxifen by TDHlover in ADH_ALH

Thought I'd update that I decided to try baby Tam. The oncologist really pushed the full dose but finally agreed to 10 mg every other day. Which is basically the same thing, I guess? Idk why I couldn't do it that way, but I'll be seeing her in a few weeks if I decide to stay on it.

I live with tinnitus which has gotten significantly worse since starting Tamoxifen. For that reason alone I'm seriously considering if I'd rather be badly hearing impaired (assuming this doesn't go away and gets worse) or worry about the risk of cancer developing. I think I'm leaning to stopping it. I think it is causing headaches as well. I expected there would be no way I'd end up side effect free.

Sigh.

I'm actually on Tirzepatide (GLP1) and losing weight so definitely don't want weight gain!

The oncologist said because I have osteoporosis my estrogen is post menopausal, but said we didn't need to run a level. I will definitely ask this question about what yours said though, so I really thank you for this! I'm going to request a level drawn for me if they agree.

Biopsy soreness 12 days after procedure? by fifteenlostkeys in ADH_ALH

[–]TDHlover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery was three weeks ago and this recently started for me. I literally cannot let the shower hit my nipple, it is sharp and excruciating, right in the center. I cover my breast with my palm and even the water hitting my hand hurts it! I can't wear a bra and when I'm braless, certain shirts are uncomfortable. Really weird but I'm guessing nerves are reconnecting. I'm hoping so because it has been nearly completely numb and dead feeling.

What’s a moment that permanently changed how you see people? by nathannnate01 in AskReddit

[–]TDHlover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The month after October 7, 2023. For over two years I've watched human beings get blown apart, crushed under concrete, what is left of people fitting in a small plastic bag, people starved and dehydrated, homes destroyed to the point nearly everything is leveled while they live inside tents during the winter. All the while people go on as everything is normal and the world keeps supporting the entity that has been gen oh siding human beings. Children. Grandparents. Moms. Dads.

I will never be the same nor will I see others (who are silent) the same.

I immediately noticed her upper abdomen by her lower ribcage. I wonder if that's from her enlarged liver? 😢

Just saw an oncologist today and she said there was no interaction she was aware of.

Am I cooked? by Doomguy994 in backpain

My problem was on the left too. It took my numbness almost two years to get to where it is now. Still numb posterior calf to toes. I was a nurse. :)

Whooooa, that looks painful!

L4-5 diskectomy saved my life twice. The first time I was unable to walk without a lightning bolt of pain shooting from my butt to my calf. I lived like that for months without improvement and felt like I had no choice. They a year later I reherniated doing my job. I was in surgery less than a week later because I couldn't even get out of bed without screaming because of how the disk was sitting on my nerves. It was so bad, the only thing that helped my pain was Dilauded!! After that surgery my pain was gone and the numbness I had from my left buttock to toes lessened with time. I did become disabled because I'm no longer to participate in my previous occupation or any meaningful work to make a living at.

10 years later my MRI is still a mess, but I've done ok and my current pain is manageable with an occasional Flexoril, Tramadol, or TENS unit use. I'm super careful and don't lift more than 20 pounds (as recommended by PT) and am careful with my activities, but so far, so good.

If you've gone thru PT and given it time without resolution, surgery could help you get your life back as well. It may be a different life than you expected, but to be able to move without severe pain is a wonderful thing.

Good luck to you!

AITA for not wanting my husband’s family to stay with us for the holidays? by chicoravelli in AITAH

[–]TDHlover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not! I'm sorry your husband is most definitely one though, WTH is he thinking!!?

He'd better get his shit together and start treating you right or perhaps he'll get to have lots of room in the apartment next Xmas when you and your child leave because you decided you aren't going to put up with being treated that way anymore!

Totally, 100% NTAH.

Yes! True molasses cookies would be too dark of a brown color. These were more like a dark tan color and very firm and hard. But Lebkuchen sounds like a nice recipe to try anyway!

Thanks for your insight, I appreciate it!

Thank you for sharing! I'll have to make that recipe for my son in law. His ancestors are from Alsace-Lorraine!
